I think that is henna staining her fingers. If it is and she is a newlywed it is the custom in some places that as long as design remains she needs to do no housework.

I love the wedding henna customs (and I would keep that on as LONG as possible!)

I'm so sorry. These things seem so far away sometimes and we have to realize that all this is very personal and heart rending for many. Not gonna help 'em much. Like saying they found fraud in rural Texas outside the valley. That would mean Bush should have won by even more in Texas. Basra is Shiite, and the Shiites had a huge turnout to being with. They are also the majority in the country.
