PRESIDENTIAL NEWS OF THE DAY: It's snowing in Washington today. The President and First Lady attended St. John's Church this morning before heading back to the White House to continue monitoring events in Iraq.
QUOTE OF THE DAY:
In great numbers, and under great risk, Iraqis have shown their commitment to democracy. By participating in free elections, the Iraqi people have firmly rejected the anti-democratic ideology of the terrorists. They have refused to be intimidated by thugs and assassins. And they have demonstrated the kind of courage that is always the foundation of self-government.
Some Iraqis were killed while exercising their rights as citizens. We also mourn the American and British military personnel who lost their lives today. Their sacrifices were made in a vital cause of freedom, peace in a troubled region, and a more secure future for us all.
On behalf of the American people, I congratulate the people of Iraq on this great and historic achievement.

Coming dead last has gotta be worth something. Maybe not a toaster ... how about a key chain? A Batman de-coder ring? A disposable lighter? Something.

Hi, WCG. Imagining this in my mind's eye brought a fond smile to my face. The world would be a much darker, unfriendly place without dogs, in my opinion.
Hello. You can't accuse me of waiting around today, can you :-D
Thanks!
Avenger of the Bones will REALLY fit when Saddam goes on trial. That should be soon too, I believe.
The attitude of the Democrats is shocking, isn't it, snugs. At least in your country, because Tony Blair is a member of Labour, they don't have room to be so hypocritical as our Dims.
Oh dear, I'm just getting caught up. So sad about the c-120 crash, so sorry to hear of the loss of all those brave, noble soldiers. May they rest in peace and God's comfort to their families. Their mission was nobel and just, their service was true.
Snicker...I'll trade you a toaster for a washer and dryer, which I don't have. Must somehow rouse myself to get to the laundry today.
thanks for Barney's picture....he always makes me laugh! Great picture!
Doing very well thanks, we arrived in San Antonio. Rain here, I hope that clears out soon. We're set up and humming with the internet and cable tv though. We drove from IL to San Antonio since Wednesday.
Hi CT, thanks for the link.
Good article, 'Tator. I hope your prediction, "But the most important result of this election is many more American citizens will come to the conclusion that President Bush tells us the truth and the Democrats and media tell us untruths," is proven right. Heck, with any luck even California might emerge from the political Dark Ages.
Laundry is a chore on anyday--especially Sunday. I don't envy you :)
I am watching President Bush discuss a Free Iraq in the First Presidential Debate. He was Certain, he was Passionate, and Clear. It is uplifting to review his words of months ago, and know what has happened today.
"People" say that Kerry won that debate. I encourage anyone to prefer Kerry's mealymouthness with Ws certitude.
Oh, arbee, it's I who should thank you, and all the other FReepers who -- each in their own way -- helped to make this day possible through their unfailing support of President Bush.
No indeed
I hope so Wolfstar, CA is such a beautiful state, it hurts my heart that it has so many loonies mucking things up there.
I may be seeing a California liberal in a few days at a convention we will be at. It will be interesting to see if his attitudes toward Bush have changed any, I doubt it. If not, I intend to jerk his chain a bit, LOL!
