PRESIDENTIAL NEWS OF THE DAY: It's snowing in Washington today. The President and First Lady attended St. John's Church this morning before heading back to the White House to continue monitoring events in Iraq.
QUOTE OF THE DAY:
In great numbers, and under great risk, Iraqis have shown their commitment to democracy. By participating in free elections, the Iraqi people have firmly rejected the anti-democratic ideology of the terrorists. They have refused to be intimidated by thugs and assassins. And they have demonstrated the kind of courage that is always the foundation of self-government.
Some Iraqis were killed while exercising their rights as citizens. We also mourn the American and British military personnel who lost their lives today. Their sacrifices were made in a vital cause of freedom, peace in a troubled region, and a more secure future for us all.
On behalf of the American people, I congratulate the people of Iraq on this great and historic achievement.
President George W. Bush, speaking to the American people from the White House today.

Mike....I can never repay you for the kindness you showed Mike and our family. You saw me through the dark days and I will never forget that!
Although I wrote the above sentence, I will have to quote President G W Bush "That doesn't make any sense!"
I must have meant to say "I challenge anyone to prefer Kerry etc...."
It was the least I could od
od = do :-)
A dear friend once told me kindness could not ever be repaid. It must be passed on to others.
May God continue to bless America and our president.
Joe Lieberman on Hannity and Colmes
Joe is great. One of the few honest democrats.
Geraldo is on now. Last night and now he is on
a major high with the election and why we are there.
This is another democrat that gets it.
A large number of the 30,000 Iraqis that live in my city, San Diego voted. They were dancing, hugging, etc.
I was glad Kerry was on TV this morning because the contrast between him and our President Bush is vast.
Kerry showed what a looooser he is.
Many monuments will be built for this President. But you and I know that isn't what he is about. He would be happy to see our Soldiers or Colin Powell or Condi Rice get the accolades. It's his unwillingness to use the word "I" when the spotlight is on him is what inspires people to follow him. That is what leadership is about
My little Maggie just turned 5 months old on Jan 15....and she's a hoot.....and IMHO much cuter than Barney or Ms Beezley....and she's Republican through and through!!!
You received a wonderful birthday present today.
Boy, did this country realize more than ever this morning what a lifesaving decision we made on November 2. Kerry really jumped the shark for the last time today, he looks like a complete idiot now.
By the way I loved the remark "Kerry really jumped the shark for the last time today, he looks like a complete idiot now".
Is that a local saying?
My inspiration for the message to the VP came from you, snugs! We can hope maybe he sees it. I'm sure that the results of that election were cause for jubilation in the VP's world today.
IRAQ THE VOTE!
That is so true, but sometimes a *thank you* seems inadequate.
Kerry and Kennedy do believe this crap he's spewing in whatever way he believes anything. When people like Kerry say something is bad for the world, they probably believe themselves to be sincere. If they knew themselves well enough, what they really mean is "This isn't good for me, so it's a bad thing for the world." People like that can never see beyond themselves.
