"When these guys are very old, old guys, they will tell their grandchildren, 'I went to Iraq, to give them democracy and freedom," said Maj. Mohammed Salman Abass Ali Al-Zobaidi, local head of the Iraqi National Guard.
And saddens Jacques, Gerhart, Zappie, Kofi, Ted K., John F.K., and Michael M., to name a few!
Now they've gone and done it -- given the Dems/libs a talking point.
"Saddam should have been on the ballot."
I love stories like this. Today was a great day indeed.
He that shall live this day and see old age....
And it saddens the DUmmies.
I'm wondering when the good souls over at DU and MoveOn are going to sue the Iraqis and claim that pervasive vote fraud prevented Saddam Hussein from being re-elected.
Wouldn't it be sweet if Saddam had a television just out of his reach showing the courage and joy of the Iraqi population as they came out and voted?!
Saddam's gotta be a really unahppy camper today!
LOL!
Can I tell you a strange thought I've been having today? Today I am actually wishing that I could be my husband, currently in Iraq. I understand that I am not the type of person who could do Sgt. AQGeiger's job...I don't mean it that way. But he's been an eyewitness to such an amazing moment in the history of Iraq, and quite possibly one of the most memorable days of the 21st century. And I wonder what he was feeling today, watching liberty, the very thing he's been fighting to create in Iraq, begin to take hold.
I understand how you would think that.
Maybe you should ask the good Sargent to keep a journal for you?
It would be a fascinating read, I'm sure!
Dimwit reporter. They're not shrouds, certainly not on live women.
DUmmies like Ramsey Clark!!! Well as far as I know, he doesn't post there, but he's clearly in DU land in spirit, at least.
Over 70% of their population voted!
We should ask the naysayers who believe the Iraqi people wanted us to run away, what they have to say now.
Let's see, how many voted in the US election?
P.S.
How many Americans would have risked being shot or blown up to go vote? To have a permanent ink mark on the finger that ID's you as a target?
These people really wanted to participate. That's all I'm saying.
