"And you chose to spend your money in Mexico? Rewarding the country that has engendered your outrage?"

I went to Mexico as one of the 3 stops of my cruise. It wasn't an issue of getting off the ship, but the issue of getting back on the ship and the lack of security in doing so.
I could have been anyone with almost anything in my bag or on my person shy of a bomb strapped to my back.

I live in a part of Houston which has a large Mexican population (and a very large illegal population). You can spot them, standing on corners, waiting for someone to hire them to do odd jobs.

A quickly growing industry in the area are these corner establishments which "send money" to Mexico for a small fee.

I read in the paper this past week that the big banks in Houston are going to waive the fee for sending money to Mexico -- in an effort to put out of business these small "money transfer" operations.

I shudder to think how MUCH money is being made here, tax free, and sent back across the border into Mexico, while it's my tax dollars, providing health care for their children born here.

You all know, don't you, that when a child is born here, they automatically get free health care and food stamps -- if they are here illegally. Of course, when an child is born here who is an American citizen, they don't get free ANYTHING!!!!!!

Forget the increased costs involved in hiring non-illegals.

Right now I KNOW that my Hispanic flyerboy will be there tomorrow, calling in for work...in freezing temperatures with or without snow.

You're asking me to take out Pedro Martinez in the 3rd inning and replace him with Donnie Moore.

They are dependable. They give an honest day's work. They're respectful. And they love their mothers.

We don't raise them like that...at least not on the Coasts.

Furthermore, our own County Executive, (D)Doug Duncan has given the police department clear orders NOT to cooperate with the US Immigration.

"They need me on that wall. They WANT me on that wall..."

"Oxnard has homes with garages converted into living space"

Tell me about it!!!! 20 years ago, Oxnard was a clean, well kept, low crime town. Now it is a toilet. I haved lived on the beach near Oxnard for over 20 years, and I will not drive through Oxnard at night.

Victor Davis Hanson and other researchers have documented
that the average illegal per year collects about$40,000
more in social services than he contributes in labor or
taxes. We, the taxpayers, have to support the bankrupt
school districts, insolvent hospitals, prison incarcerations, and welfare that the sunami of illegals
is causing. This is not to even go into the almost
criminal negligence that is part of Bush's guest-worker
(amnesty) program that leaves the borders out-of-control
in an age of international terrorism.

Getting elected is one thing, governing is something else. Like her hubby, run as a centrist and govern as a liberal. The Clintons are sleazy but they aren't stupid.

1. the US government for not doing their job and 2. our NEIGHBORS who hire these people for lanscaping, construction, short order cooks. It aint the "elite" that is the largest employers of illegals, its the small business people in our community, sad to say.

Agreed...levy heavy fines on those who hire illegals, combined with a federal type of Arizona's 200, increase ad-hoc inspections in areas of known law breaking i.e.(constructions, restaurants, etc.)

Big, medium and small businesses by law have to perform a rigorous background check for insurance purposes.
All is needed, is patrol the borders and tighten the screw few notches. There is no need to chase the "schleps" all over the place; take the pie away and everyone eventually will leave.

I demanded that of my contractor and told him if they cannot speak and understand English, they cannot work on our land.

It's actually wise to verify that your contractor is licensed and bonded --- and don't forget to ask to see the insurance policy -- workman's comp carried on his employees. A work place injury -- falling off your roof could get you a lawsuit from someone who isn't covered.

i don't think the elites of mexico have figured out yet the anger about this issue in the united states.

You're right. I heard about the Mexican reaction to Vicente Fox visiting Ciudad Juarez --- people were kicking the car he was in, pounding on it, shouting at him --- and I felt like going over there and joining in. It would be awfully hard at this point for the Mexican oligarchs to gather up support of Americans to go over and fight and kill their peasants to keep them in power --- yet that's what they'll expect us to do.

Thanks -- I've always liked Rush --- but I figured he didn't live in an area that has much problem from massive immigration. A lot of times people have seen something like 2 Mexicans in their lives and both were hard at work when they saw them so they stereotype all of them that way. It's after you see the crowds at the welfare offices, the free clinics, the Head start programs and the Emergency Rooms waiting for their free care that you start to realize that no all are coming to work hard.

But on Monday's program he clarafied the misinterpretations made by worldnet and others .

RUSH: "...if illegal immigrants are now doing jobs that Americans won't do, then the government should increase the level of legal immigration, if that's the case, a legal immigrant or an illegal immigrant is of the same caliber. So if immigrants are doing the work that Americans won't do, then make those jobs filled by legal immigrants and follow the law."

Rush favors either a guest worker program, amnesty, or increasing legal immigration.

And of course this exchange Monday"

RUSH: These same people that are coming in illegally, what would be the difference if those same people were allowed in legally and then you hired them? What would be the difference?

CALLER: Oh, no. I would love it if they were brought in legally.

RUSH: That's all I'm saying.
