No takers for smuggler's tale
A Pole caught carrying five kilos (11 lbs) of amphetamines at the Norwegian border failed to convince a court that he had been summoned to Norway to donate sperm.
The man was stopped at Svinesund on the Swedish-Norwegian border during a spot customs check of a passenger bus last May, NRK (Norwegian Broadcasting) reports. Customs officials found five kilos of amphetamines in his luggage and his fingerprints on the packaging the drugs were in.
The man's story was that he had come to Norway to donate sperm to a Norwegian couple that he had met via the Internet. They had agreed that he should come to Norway for a health exam.
The Pole further explained that he met a stranger en route that asked him to carry a package to Norway. The self-proclaimed sperm donor said that he returned the package when the stranger would not explain its contents and hadn't seen it since.
The court handed out a six year prison sentence for drug smuggling, citing aggravating circumstances since the man had acted as both courier and packager.
The woman named as the sperm recipient stated that she had never met or had any contact with the accused.
"Ping" for the "Norway ping list."
My thanks to a member of the "Norway ping list," who this afternoon sent me some valuable links concerning Norway, and I plan to use those on future threads about our allies in the War against Terror, the brave steadfast Norwegians.
PMSL PING
Excuse me, sir, as I bleary-eyed look through all the IRS W-2s, 1040s, 1099s, and whatnots--what does that acronym PMSL mean? It does not sound good.
It means Peeing My Self Laughing.
At least I think it does.
Oh, okay; I was worried it might be derogatory.
: )

Not too far from the truth I guess...

Great profile, sir, and I hope you get through the sludge of the bureaucracy at Immigration & Naturalization; it is a mess there.....I know, firsthand and up close.
Read your profile, I have a similar file here at work and 3 4" ring binders full of paperwork...Been here 5 years patiently waiting, obeying the law, paying taxes etc...
Well, good luck to you and your wonderful family, sir; I am bothered in that it does not have to be this way, but no one seems particularly enthusiastic about improving the "system."
IMI teams usually get fired...too many higher up have settled in for the long run..
IMI = Identify, Measure & Improve...
