Jeff Gannon

A Voice of the New Media

The voice goes silent.

Because of the attention being paid to me I find it is no longer possible to effectively be a reporter for Talon News. In consideration of the welfare of me and my family I have decided to return to private life.

Thank you to all those who supported me.

"I'd heard MM had a *fling* with one of the site's more conservative nutballs, Mudboy Slim."

Is this is true, Murrymom? Sounds like you have just been leading me on. : (

Willie, let's all pretend you wouldn't be happy to have this guy's head on a stick.

The guy won't defend himself, so who's to say whether his head belongs on a stick or not?

Frankly, I can't remember ANYTHING or ANYBODY you've ever supported.
Except, of course, Pat.

PJB has been disappointingly silent on the Maglev issue.
I'm going to have to send him another email.

I guess you missed Schieffer's comment on hardball about not having a national election ... that a few states decided who would be President and the rest are stuck with their decision

I've heard conservative defenders of the Electoral College make a similar observation to reach a different conclusion - that having a few states as battleground states focuses the election into a few topics, instead of having the candidates pander to everybody.

If someone can point me to a source refuting Kos' charges, I'd be happy to look at it and report back with my findings.

So, if I say you're gay, somebody has to prove you're not?

Agreed that such an approach creates a "when did you stop beating your wife" contradiction. I also know that false associations can be made through IP and registry similarities.

I would hope that Gannon could contact someone via freepmail, prefereably JimRob or Admin Moderator, to put out his version of the story. And not spin - but the truth. And then that person can give a generalized version that would not reveal specifics that could cause further problems for Gannon, but indicates whether any of the allegations has merit. I think that Gannon owes that much to the forum.

continuing harassment, and perhaps threats to his physical safety or to that of his family.

Very typical behavior from the left along with blacklisting and other dirty tricks. They always accuse their opposition, usually referred to as enemies, of doing what the are practicing so as to draw attention away from themselves and then rationalizing what they are doing as defensive..

And the "alleged" (insidiously by association rumor) fact over "shared" domain names -- is just so, ridiculous and presumes EVERYONE ON THE INTERNET doesn't understand that one can sometimes share space with others unlike yourself.

Yep - a lot of false insinuations can be made via that approach.

Just saw this, Wonkette points the finger here:

Jeff Gannon's Dramatic Retirement

http://www.wonkette.com/politics/media/jeff-gannons-dramatic-retirement-032541.php

Well, I hope you people are happy: faux-news reporter and possible White House briefing room plant Jeff Gannon, subject to a long hard hammering by the gay-baiting liberal blog scene, has retired from... whatever it is that he did. Really, you people ruin all the fun-- and it's always enjoyable to see liberals run someone out of town with language like "allegations of involvement with several websites appearing to support gay pornography and promote male prostitution." Uh, I happen to like gay pornography and prostitution? And will Mr. Gannon never answer my final interview request?

"when your "source" turns out to be rush limbaugh's radio show where he is proud he completely made up stuff atrributed to Harry Reid and then Mr. Gannon quotes the misquote without providing a source during a whitehouse briefing I'd say you've outed yourself as a fake journalist."

Every time El Rushbo quotes "Dingy" Harry he has a sound clip to prove it. Looks like you are outa here TROLL!

GOP Pseudo-Journalist quits (Jeff Gannon)

What credentials do any of the other White House journalists hold that Jeff Gannon does not?

While journalists like to ignore or pretend otherwise, journalism is a trade and anyone who calls them self a journalist, is, in fact, a journalist.

I've heard conservative defenders of the Electoral College make a similar observation to reach a different conclusion -

Schieffer's wasn't discussing the context of the Electoral College

He was giving his personal opinion to a question asked by Chrissy

If Gannon attributed the "soup lines" quote to Harry Reid without checking to make sure Reid really said "soup lines," then he was sloppy.

What do you think, then, of Bill Moyers's recent fabrication of a quote by James Watt, former Secretary of the Interior ? See quote at PowerLineBlog: Bill Moyers Smears a Better Man Than Himself

Moyers took a story that was absurd on its face, embellished it, and used it to try to smear religious conservatives in general and President Bush in particular.

If I recall this isn't the first time the left went after a reporters personal life ..

Geez, I can't remember the name, but they did the same thing last fall during the election

Also .. don't forget what the left did to Mary Cheney

And I'm saying others have made a similar observation in the context, including those on the right. Many states didn't get a visit from either candidate after the conventions.
