What kind of a ungracious fop makes a stupid blunder about another man, then takes another swipe in his letter of apology ?

Moyers is really losing it...have you heard his anti-Hannity/Levin rant? Beyond belief.
As Rush always maintained, when the libs are out of power they are most entertaining in that they will say ANYTHING.

If nothing else, this dust-up shows how the MSM feeds on itself. One liberal lies and the echo chamber kicks it from one liberal media outlet to another. Too bad Watt doesn't sue the pants off every one of them.

"Because those or similar quotes had also appeared through the years in many other publications -- in The Washington Post and Time, 'Doonesbury' and on SNL's 'Weekend Update' for example, as well as several books that I consulted in preparing my speech -- I too easily assumed their legitimacy. ... I regret the mistake." That's the problem with these liberal pukes. They see something in a liberally biased hateful satire and don't understand that it might actually be a parody that bears no resemblance to the truth.

I never realized that Moyers was such a hostile liberal bitch. This guy seethes with hate. Moyers is an evil ultra-liberal fossil from the Lyndon Johnson administration. He is a sick puppy, and he is so over!

I thought that it was a pretty weak apology. When one apologizes, one does not generally say "Guess I was wrong, but everyone has reported you said that. Besides, I disagree with everything you believe." That's a totally classless statement.
Moyers should have said, "I was wrong. I neglected to properly check a statement which I attributed to you. I owe it to you and to those who heard my speech to be entirely accurate."

"You and I differ strongly about your record as Secretary of Interior," the letter continued. "I found your policies abysmally at odds with what I understand as a Christian to be our obligation to be stewards of the earth."Well, Mr. Moyers (may I call you Bill?), Bill - you and I differ strongly about your record as a so-called journalist. I found your dishonesty abysmally at odds with what I understand as a news reporter (that's what I am, Bill) to be our obligation to be tellers of the truth
Sincerely,

What the MSM did to Watt taught them how to repeat it and succeed with Dan Quayle.
They would have accomplished the same with W had he not the armor of his Father's friends' favor and markers he could call in from not pursuing some of what had happened in the administration he followed. As it is even with Blogs and Internet we are still fighting the same perceptions they created so well over "W". Note also that the personal belief systems of these three are rather kin. I pray for strength and wound healing for all three.
For those who comprehend...it is largely a spiritual battle. The stakes are very high. God, help us.

It is interesting to see
Editor & Publisher running this article. It is even more interesting to see Bill Moyers admitting publicly that he was wrong about James Watt. But it is typical of Moyers that he includes in his letter of apology to Watt, a Lib-Dem condemnation of Watt's work as Secretary of the Interior.

Wow. Moyers believes what he reads on the Internet without double checking it and has the chutzpah to get indignant over Sean Hannity? Hey, Moyers! Stop reading that freak show of political pornography you got that quote from.

Moyers should have apologized and shut up. His opposition to anything to the right of Mao is well documented, and he didn't need to use his apology as another soapbox for his stupid opinions.
