From what I understand, Maddy and her sister, Crown Princess Victoria, are both very popular with the Swedish people. :)

I can vouch for Freepers who are half Swedish. They're both stunning.

Just my opinion, but after the disgrace of Edward V111, I don't think any heir to the British throne would even consider the 'A' word.

As much as I loved Diana and the original marriage fairy tale, it's clear now this was always the true love story.

"PLEASE, don't have any children!

And if you do, make sure they have a good orthodonist."

I think you mean a good veterinarian.

>(Edward) was too much of a nazi sympathizer<

That was the story behind the story. The scandal story was that Edward abdicated to marry a divorced woman, not to speak of an American one. All that aside.....

Good point!

Although giving up your place as heir apparent would be equally shameful.

Sorry, old chap, that you took offense at my comment.

I assure you, no offense toward the wonderfully warm people of the united Kingdom was intended.

And, no, I would not "howl like an old lady" if someone were to good-naturedly poke fun at Bush (either George or Laura).

One of the traits of many of us Yanks is that we enjoy good-natured ribbing -- and we enjoy good-natured ribbing of our own leaders.

Sorry, though, that that does not seem to be part of your sense of humor.

I make an effort -- even though I do not live in the UK -- to understand British humor.

You might save yourself some grief if you make an effort to understand American humor before you assert that good-natured ribbing is "immature and nasty".

Just a suggestion, you understand, old chap.

Of course Charles will be king. That is just how it works, isn't it?

Good for them. Camilla seems OK. Charles obviously has always loved her. To his credit, he is apparently not a superficial person.
