'Enterprise' was supposed to be the predecessor to The Original Series, and, as it nears its conclusion, it's apparent that on that score it was a miserable failure.

LOL! So _that's_ why the sets looked a lot more believable than ST1's 'plywood and plastic'!

Dead Wrong. I enjoyed every episode. The only thing I didn't like was too damn many story arcs. Get one and stay there.

When TNG re-used the disease from "The Naked Time" I realized the franchise had run out of original ideas (if not beautiful bodies) and didn't worry much about watching any of the remainder.

Novelty means risk. Risk got the original series cancelled after only 3 years of its 5 year mission. If I ever caught a subsequent one the same thought came back - formula.

The original series was also original in its writing and its plots. Is that so hard?

Shalom.

They shot it in the foot out of the gate, giving it a wish washy camptain that went on liberal and leftist ideological diatribes....

The last good "captain" in the series was DS9.. Cisco or whatever his name was. In Voyager they went overboard trying to show a woman could be a strong captain and in Enterprise they shot themselves out of the gate with leftist propoganda.
