I think that's what the neighbor in the report said it was. Whether he knows what he's talking about... who knows?
Fact of the matter is that quite a few people, especially reporter-types, are woefully under-educated when it comes to firearms - yet they speak and write as if they were experts, and others who don't know a great deal about the subject tend to believe them.
This is how we got the term "assault weapon". An "assault rifle" is a rifle that is capable of being switched from semi-automatic fire (one shot per trigger pull) to full-automatic fire (pull and hold trigger, multiple shots till you let off the trigger or run out of ammo). "Assault weapon" is a term made up by anti-gunners to describe rifles that look like assault rifles, but are only capable of semi-automatic fire. The lack of knowledge of terminology makes for a pretty confusing issue, but I guess some people like things that way.
