A man suspected of abducting a 9-year-old girl led police on a chase Tuesday -- with the child in the car -- that ended when he crashed into an Arlington school bus on its way to Bailey Junior High School, police said.
According to police, the girl was abducted Tuesday morning from east Arlington and was taken to a Grand Prairie apartment complex. A Grand Prairie police officer who was driving by noticed a disturbance between an adult and a child in a parked white Honda CRV. When the officer went to investigate, the driver of the car fled the scene, police said.
The chase ended in Arlington after the suspect's vehicle swerved to miss a van and crashed into the school bus, police said.
The driver, Jermiah Gene Sexton, 22, of Springtown, was arrested and was in Grand Prairie Jail.
The 9-year-old girl, who was in the car during the chase, was taken to an area hospital for evaluation.
One student on the bus was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. The other students were transported to Bailey Junior High School or released to their guardians.

Thanks for posting.
Where did everyone who thinks police are donut eating, power abusing, good-fer-nothings go?
Nice 'toon, good tag line, too.
God bless that sharp-eyed cop. He saved a little girl's life.
The police officer's name is Oscar Garcia. I think he deserves some kind of award. He saved that girl's life. Great police work!
Hopefully the perp will not see the light of day again.
This is the one I was telling you about this afternoon.

This is likely the most important arrest of this officer's entire career. It's not often that the police get to be pro-active as opposed to reactive. Praise God for the little girl's safe return.
