War Inside CBS News (Drudge Siren Alert)

THE NEW YORK OBSERVER will report tomorrow: 'Former 60 Minutes Wednesday executive editor Josh Howard has told colleagues that before he resigns, the 23-year CBS News veteran will demand that the network retract remarks by CBS president Leslie Moonves, correct its official story line and ultimately clear his name'...

In the event of a lawsuit, Mr. Howard has told associates that he would like to see Moonves put under oath to talk about his own roles in the network's stubborn, hapless defense of the flawed segment on President Bush's National Guard service.

Howard has also indicated to colleagues that he would subpoena specific CBS documents, including the e-mails of top executives.

I believe Paul Begala (or one of the Clinton cronies) recalled Clinton making that statement in the oval office during one of the staff meetings.

I do believe it's recorded in some of the books written about Clinton - but it's been so long ago - I just don't remember.

IMO, CBS first considered the "hoax" defense as plausible deniability, but decided that they couldn't withstand the additional scrutiny and thereby decided to "punt" -- admit nothing and stonewall -- rats running for the dark spaces. This is BTW a typical corporate response to an extremely damaging situation. In the past CBS has prevailed with this tactic, but that was before information flowed easily and rapidly through the blogosphere/forumosphere.

BTW, CBS could immediately solve their credibility problem by disclosing all information pertaining to the segment, including production meeting minutes and the source of the documents. There can be only one plausible explaination for their failing to do so -- the damage from failure to disclose is far LESS than the failure to disclose. This leaves them damned, IMHO.

Interesting, very interesting. But Rats eating their own is an old story, what I want is CBS news to admit their very liberal bias,! I'm sick of them denying it saying they don't know what people are talking about. It it can be proved that somebody at that station had something to do with creating those bogus documents its the end for CBS!

Good memory, CyberAnt................it was Stephanopoulas in his book: All Too Human

The author describes a meeting between Clinton and Anthony Lake on the slaughter of U.S. Marines in Mogadishu. This excerpt is from page 214:

"We're not inflicting pain on these f-----s," Clinton said, softly at first. "When people kill us, they should be killed in greater numbers." Then, with his face reddening, his voice rising, and his fist pounding his thigh, he leaned into Tony as if it were his fault: "I believe in killing people who try to hurt you, and I can't believe we're being pushed around by these two-bit pr---s."

"This should be fun to watch."

Sure beats watching 60 Minutes or CBS Nightly Not News.

Hillary has never answered a single question about her life as a career criminal,

Nor has she answered any questions about how she smeared the White House Travel Office,

Her use of Air Force One to cart her fat carpet bagging hiney to New York for her multiple campaign stops.

Her Husbands Pardons for several crooks who donated to her campaign

She never explained how the White Water records were mysteriously found in the White House years after she was ordered to turn them over.

I Challenge any stinking Liberal to ask themselves if George W. Bush could get away with 1/10 of what Hillary has been given a pass on. President Bush had to cough up his 35 year old Dental records over a non-story that was debunked several times.

Hillary (legs on upside down) Clinton will not survive what the "New Media" will confront her with

"Would that Rather's daughter be exposed as the missing link between the forgeries and CBS.

Ms. Rather is not concerned. She plans to enter the Miss America contest and live off her royalties after she wins the crown later this year!

I feel a little bad about glorying in someone else's misfortune during the Lenten season but I guess I can work through that...

Just remember its a misfortune of their own making so don't feel too guilty.

I read it in the Rush Limbaugh Letter from a couple of months ago. Brent was the big interview in the Letter.

It seems like they had something they called "Fortunate Son", that was suppose to come out right at the same time, but I didn't see anything. In my mind, there is no doubt there was coordination with the Kerry camp. I just hope it actually comes out instead of everyone settling.

Kerry & Co had a commercial ready within an hour after this piece aired. It was called Fortunate Son. Rush was talking about how Kerry had to be in on it because he had to have had that commercial already done before this show aired.

Maybe Sueann remembers. She wrote this just a couple of days after 9-11:

"....We should never forget Bill Clinton's statement: "I think it's okay to kill people who hurt you". But he meant it in the context of personal attacks against himself - he never meant it toward outside enemies.
