David Dequeljoe, a Landing Signal Officer (LSO) assigned to the "Swordsmen" of Fighter Squadron Three Two (VF-32), relays approach and recovery information to Sailors working in the Combat Direction Center (CDC), while watching one of his squadron's F-14B Tomcats approach the landing area on the flight deck aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). The LSO's primary responsibility is the safe and expeditious recovery of fixed-wing aircraft aboard ship. Carrier Air Wing Three (CVW-3) is embarked aboard Truman and is providing close air support and conducting intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance over Iraq.
