This is DISGUSTING! I've already written the FOX channel about this, told them it was inappropriate:
askfox@foxinc.com
First it was the PBS show, now this! How blatant can you get? It's another attempt by the homosexual community to push this lifestyle on the rest of us and most people in America are against it! PLEASE WRITE THEM AND PASS THIS ALONG! --Fee

I'd like to see the story line before I start ranting. My bet is that Simpsons will make a mockery of the same sex agenda and come out strong for family values.
...looking forward to hearing Homer get to it with a girlee man or lesbian.

With Homer officiating the "ceremony" after getting his 'license' online, I suspect this episode isn't going to be exactly an in your face support of gay marriage episode.

Maybe next they expand our horizens some more and have Homer and Bart engage in sex. Afterall, I have seen it in journals where pedophilia is really not all that bad.
To: FeeinTennessee
Just don't watch it if you don't like it. Most TVs have buttons specifically designed to change channels.

If you don't like it, turn off the TV. There are worse things on TV. That is why TV has an off switch. Boycott the advertisers. Hit 'em in the wallet. Unlike most Americans, I don't watch TV.

I'm going to wait and see how it plays out. The Simpsons "used" to have a way of skewering the Left. I definately won't be watching with my kids.

Smithers has been gay for years. They also did an episode where Homer thought Bart was turning gay, he took Bart to a steel mill, and of course it turned out that it was a gay steel mill.
I love the simpsons.
Can't wait to see who Smithers marries.

Obviously you have never watched the Simpsons. First its a cartoon, not reality TV, not based on anything but the writers larks. Secondly the show for years has poked fun at America and our values (both real and imaginary). How this cartoon can carry an agenda is beyond me. And anyone who would take it seriously is in need of some professional help. If your so offended don't watch it or let your children watch it. I myself will tune in a probably laugh my @ss off. D'OH!

I'm with you on that. I suspect we'll see more subtle mockery of the whole thing than anything. We'll see Mayor Quimby (Ted Kennedy's cousin) publicly pronounce his "respect" for them while he privately figures out how he can fill city coffers with "gay money", Burns figuring an "EGGSSELLENT" way to raise power rates to queer hotels, etc. And, of course, Homer will be an idiot.
Folks ought not get their panties in a wad over this.

You obviously haven't watched it that much. What equals conservative is openly religous characters and more church going then has been on TV since the 50s. They poke fun at lots of leftists sacred cows. It's also extraoridnarily sophisticated and humane. What other show can work in refereces to Joyce and the like.

I honestly don't understand why people like you go through all the trouble to sign up for an account on a conservative activists' forum, just so you can post comments dismissing and trivializing any objections to crap like this being injected into our culture with increasing frequency.
Yes, the Simpsons is just a cartoon, and I would not personally bother to make this show my battleground, but if some more motivated FReepers out there want to get the word out with the chance that they may have a positive influence on the entertainment industry, I say more power to them. That's what the culture war is all about. I would rather see that than someone on this site demanding that everyone shut up and take it.
As an aside, I stopped watching the Simpsons years ago, after being a long time fan, because their political satire became more and more humorless until it has become almost a straight list of talking points, and not the kind of talking points that I like.

I'm going to TIVO it. I think it will be funny. It'll poke fun at the right and make fun of gay marriage. It should be funny - like most Simpson's shows.
If people want to protest gays on TV, they should go after Rangle.
