Spy reveals Soviet attack plans 05:50 AEDT Mon Feb 14 2005

Soviet agents were prepared to poison military targets, including an Australian naval base, a former KGB spymaster has revealed.

Scientist Alexander Kouzminov said agents were ready to poison military figures, civilian settlements and political leaders with lethal bacteria should war break out between the Soviet Union and the West, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.

Dr Kouzminov said one of the places selected was an area used by the US Navy, close to an Australian naval base, believed to be at Townsville.

Dr Kouzminov had to decide whether it was better to attack a given base through the local water supply, using transport entering the base or the dispersal of bacteria through ventilation systems.

His book, Biological Espionage, claims the Russians had known the US and Britain's most guarded germ warfare secrets for decades and that spies still operate in the West's biotechnology industry.

This isn't really such a shock, is it? I would imagine the US had pretty much the same types of plans in place.

Just think of all the years and billions of dollars spent on "national defense", and this country is still vulnerable to biological attacks and poisonings. An airliner was able to crash into the Pentagon, how much more efficient would a first strike be???

I don't doubt it one bit. I wouldn't be suprised if we have contingency plans to overrun Canada. After all plans like this are written up all the time. It's where liberals get their "Bush planned this" and "Bush planned that" complaints.

Ive heard it said that the Brits were more prepared for a war against us than the nazis going into WWII. All sensible nations make their plans ahead of time rather than later.

It doesn't matter how many billions of dollars you throw at defense. It's impossible to forsee every possible threat made by every person who wants to do others harm. It's compounded even worse when you are a "free" society.

Of course. Any country would be crazy not to have a plan for an invasion by any other nation.

One of my Russian friends is named Natasha who works in experimental physics in a "closed city" called Ozersk also known as Cheoyabinsk-40. She tells me that "extraneous people are not allowed"

When she told me that she couldn't tell me more about her job because "it is the state secret" I told her that I don't want to know.

They didn't reckon on the PowerPuff Girls.

Good question NWAG. Maybe because the press isn't pro-American? Well, if their kids get snuffed in a bio-attack at a school-yard, will they celebrate to have taken one for the good of their party? They were completely unphased by bloody attack on school children at Beslan. Heartless b**tards.

It is news here. But the mainstream media will not carry it.

Remember who owns the media

INSTEAD, they took over Americas main stream media and main stream press.. and upper management (and lower management as of 2004) of most American colleges and Universitys.. all in place as we post this day..

Saved them a lot of money and getting themselves NUKED in the process..

Both sides had all sorts of plans and preparations.

Back in 1993 I was traveling in Central Europe with a guy who had been in a chemical warfare unit of the US Army. We were on some bluffs overlooking Budapest and he said that in his head he was still looking at the contours of the land and the river basin thinking about where the best place would be to target the nerve gas shells for maximum effect.

Sounds nasty and it was, but being prepared to do the unthinkable yourselves is what prevents your opponents (if they're sane, hence the problem with North Korea) from doing it to you. It's call deterence and democrats used to understand the concept.
