D.C. Chapter to Hold Demonstration in Support of Jeff Gannon and the First Amendment, 2/18/05

All FReepers and lurkers in good standing are invited to join the D.C. Chapter in our demonstration this evening. Details in the following press release:

DEMONSTRATION IN SUPPORT OF JEFF GANNON
&
THE FIRST AMENDMENT

WHEN: FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 2005, 6 P.M. TO 8 P.M.
WHERE: THE SIDEWALK BY MONICA’S GATE,
AKA THE NORTHWEST VISITORS ENTRANCE
THE WHITE HOUSE, 1600 PENNSYLVANIA AVE., NW, WASHINGTON, D.C.

(Washington) The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic, an independent grassroots organization, will be holding a demonstration at the White House this evening in support of former Talon News White House Correspondent Jeff Gannon and the rights of other reporters to do their jobs without fear of being destroyed by the political establishment.

The group will also be bringing attention to several First Amendment-related issues pertaining to the current imbroglio. Among them are the unconstitutional efforts of Democratic congressmen to determine who is a reporter and efforts by the establishment media to shut out Internet-based news sites from having access to government press conferences.

Kristinn Taylor, Co-Leader of the D.C. Chapter of Free Republic, issued the following statement: “It is common knowledge that Jeff Gannon was singled out for personal destruction for the crime of asking a question of the President of the United States at a press conference that was insulting to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

“The Clintonista slime machine, led by former Clinton White House Chief of Staff John Podesta’s Media Matters for America, went into high gear and made an example of Mr. Gannon to any reporter who might dare to challenge Sen. Clinton’s credibility in her anticipated 2008 presidential candidacy.

“What was done to Mr. Gannon was the Clinton impeachement era Ellen Romesch strategy played out for all concerned parties to see. The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic will be out demonstrating for the rights of Mr. Gannon and all other reporters to exercise their rights without fear of personal destruction.”

Thank you! And I love the earlier posters who suggest that "this" could have happened to any of us. Any of us, that is, who posed in extremely flagrante photos on gay porn websites. Those are conservatives we can do without.

"If your referring to the domain names he registered. That's what his company did."

Domain name? That's not the half of it. Have you seen the photos on the web? I have and they are gross. Everybody basically concurs it's him. The guy hasn't even denied it.

I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY WE DON'T LET THIS GUY JUST FADE AWAY.

"Gannon hasn't denied the pictures were of him.

Gannon has an attorney who has advised him to quit talking"

Don't you think that's a little convenient. If it's not him just say so. The idea that he is going to sue so he can't admit or deny is a joke. If it is him he has no case. If it's not, he does. Either way, telling the truth won't harm any legitimate chance he has. He is hiding behind his "attorney" because he doesn't want to have to fess up.

No one knows, and some don't care.

I know Jeff.

I was standing outside the White House, alone, before the Iraq War, with a sign that read "If there is a war, it will be Saddam's CHOICE".

President Bush gave Saddam clear warning, had taken it to the UN, and had declared (GOD BLESS HIM) that no other nation will have a vote when it comes to America's national security.

Now our precious, courageous, beloved troops are fighting the cause of FREEDOM over there, instead of on our shores because the threat (of freedom) is becoming a reality on THEIR TURF! THEY HATE IT!

Very good move, Mr. President. The terrorists HATE FREEDOM more than anything because it tears down their lust for complete control...especially over females. (Terrorists are very weak men, perhaps not fully men at all, as they strike at the unarmed and innocent as all cowards are known to do.)

But-I digress, sorry....on point- Jeff, unknown to me at that time, saw that two men associated with the pink ladies ( a protest group )were walking over to me and trying to engage me in close up dispute, I was backing away, but facing them, and Jeff arrived just before the police on bicycles did, standing between me and the hippie creeps and reminding them that everyone has a right to an opinion. He is not a tall man, but he is strong, no doubt.

The police took it from there, moving the creeps back to their spot along the WH fence ( they gave me great smiles)

Jeff stayed a minute and talked, gave me his card, and said he was familiar with FReepers. He thanked me for taking a stand, and said he was sure the folks at the WH were aware of my sign!

Of course they probably were not, but it made my day!

Because it is the perfect example of the hypocrisy of the lefties. as Ann Coulter wrote, where do you go to figure out if you are suppose to be pro-gay or anti-gay on any day. The lefties can't make up their simple little minds. it's not really about Gannon personally. It's about the hypocrisy
