Before going off on rants, Freepers should consider the source.

Consider the source indeed. My only question was what is the Times up to here.

Barbrastreisand! The elder Bush dislikes the Clinton scum.

Agreed. I think that W just asked Dad to keep BJ out of W's hair. Notice BJ hasn't been badmouthing W very much lately.

Since the Times is the outlet for the Clintons, I assume that this is a suck up piece on behalf of the Clintons in order to look more "centrist," unlike the Deaniac Bush-haters.

Nothing in this article makes me think that the Bush family suddenly thinks Bill is neater than sliced bread. Bush was cordial at the portrait ceremony. The Clintonistas are the ones who act like that was a big deal.

They are spinning small talk and courtesy to sound like Bill is going to be vacationing at Crawford. I don't think so.

This puff piece is designed to boost Slick Willie's creds for his attempt to become the next UN Sec Gen. Recall Bush 41's comments about trying to be civil at the Clinton Library opening. They are not friends.

Thanks for posting this; I've always figured there WAS something between the two of them that's been covered up (Mena, Ark., etc).

Also, since Slick never had a real father figure, maybe 41 will be a good influence on him.

Bill and Hill do NOTHING that doesn't further their ambitions. Here their accomplices in the MSM are trying to wrap these pigs in the fuzzy blanket of friendship with a decent family, the Bushes.

Seems like during the Reagan years, Carter and Ford became good buddies. Maybe that was a way of keeping Jimmuh out of Reagan's hair. Likewise with this.

Bingo! That is the long and the short of it.

Hurl if you wish. I think there is something to this, but not in any way that bothers me.

W and Billy do share commonalities, as much as they are unalike otherwise. Texas and Arkansas. Grew up in the same era. Personally very charismatic. They probably do get on, when you get down to it. But they are NOT soulmates, so no one need worry.

That's the minor part. The HUGE commonality is the three have been President.

The KEY to this threesome, however, is a tag team effort by Dad and son to influence the wild-card Billy, to channel him if you will, to whatever extent possible, into productive pursuits as an ex-President. Hillary is the disciplined one; Billy is all over the lot, and that is bad for an ex-President of the U.S. because it hurts America.

One other thing: W has a religious zeal to influence others spiritually; do not be surprised if there is an element of THAT involved here.

You mean that they are trying to get him to be the man that he SHOULD be. That would be a good thing.

Yep... they're doing pretty good this morning. Except Clinton reminding us that "God is in control" was a little sickening.

Former President George Bush calls them "the odd couple," and this weekend one of the most unlikely teams in modern American politics is on a four-day humanitarian air odyssey to the Asian nations hit hard by the tsunami last year.

Lest we forget the tsunami which has hit the DNC only to hit them again and again....
