Also Saturday, authorities reported arresting two insurgent leaders, including a top aide to Iraqi al-Qaida leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the Jordanian-born terror mastermind.
Baqouba police chief Abdel Molan said his forces had captured Haidar Abu Bawari, also know asthe "Prince of the Holy Warriors,." He was described as a top aide to al-Zarqawi and the man behind the insurgency in the city about 35 miles northeast of the capital.
The Iraqi government also said it arrested one of the key insurgent leaders in the northern city of Mosul. He was identified as Harbi Abdul Khudair al-Mahmoudi, 50, also known as Abu Nor, a former member of Saddam Hussein's Baath party.

Does that make them the top of the top aides? Sounds like we are getting close to the top top of the top aides.
Good intel, we need to bag this scum ASAP.
My god, it seems like we keep arresting many of Zarqawi's top lieutenants and aides.
How many this this a-hole have?!
top aides, Pong
I got it in your first post - LOL! Still see my #5 for another tidbit or two.
LOL
Ah, Holy Warriors, attacking the infidels in their...mosques? Apparently now even Muslims are infidels to Zarqawi et al. Well, that makes sense given that their true belief is in mayhem and indiscriminate murder.
And seriously, what exactly is the religious difference between the Sunni and the Shia? As far as I know, the only real difference is that the Sunnis wanted one guy for the 4th caliph, and the Shi'ites wanted another. And that one difference over who would be their leader 1300 years ago has caused so much bloodshed and fighting between them.
I've also heard that Shi'ites have a clergy but the Sunnis do not. Can anyone confirm this? Does anyone know if there is anything else that sets them apart? Thanks in advance.
The Platinum Club or DoubleBlueDiamond level takes work.
55 dead from suicide bombs on their religious holiday this year...more than 115 were killed on this holiday last year. In both cases, many/most of those murdered were simple Iraqi worshippers attending Mosque.
Thus, the insurgency has been reduced to less than *half* of its potency in a single year.
I'd much rather read: killed two insurgent leaders
I'm looking for the toppiest of the top topperooni top toppers top aide to the toppy top top aide.
Isn't that the truth - It seems they want to call everyone they catch (that is part of the Al Qeade network) within Iraq....a "top aide" to Zarqawi -
As for Zarqawi I think it is obvious our OODA loop (Intel to action) must be streamlined and shortened.
Zarqawi (and this also applies in somewhat of a lesser extent with both UBL and Al Zawahiri as well) these guys have simply adjusted to how long our OODA loop is within military operations. They simply feel safe in having a measure of our Intel guys and how long the Intel to action cycle is within our ability to respond.
So even when we do have "good Intel" (especially with Zarqawi in Iraq) by the time the whole OODA process (loop) takes place these guys are long gone.
but they have been catching more and more lately after catching the spiritual leader and the bomb maker....those guys are singing and I'm hearing that more and more Iraqi's are giving Intel......I'm betting we are now exponentially getting closer and closer
Denny Crane: "There are two places to find the truth. First God and then Fox News."
Well, when several of your "top aides" get killed, captured, or otherwise eliminated every day, you need thousands of them.
BWAAHAAA!
