A Demographic Tsunami
Pittsburgh Tribune-Review ^ | February 21, 2005 | Ralph. R. Reiland

[snip]

What is guaranteed about Social Security is that it's facing a demographic tsunami. In 1940, there were 42 workers per retiree. The ratio today is down to 3-to-1 and it'll be 2-to-1 before today's 20-year-olds are eligible for Early Birds.

More young immigrants would help, but a recent report by Stuart Anderson, a senior official at the Immigration and Naturalization Service in President Bush's first term, concludes that a hefty 33 percent jump in immigration over the next 75 years would only trim Social Security's impending multitrillion-dollar deficit by 10 percent. More domestic babies would also help, but there aren't enough fertile evangelicals to turn things around.

Social Security is a defined contribution plan masquerading as a defined benefit plan. That's fraud.

In 1960's Flemming v. Nestor, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled we don't have a legal right to a dime in Social Security benefits. Payroll taxes, said the court, are just that -- taxes, not "contributions" to an assured or fail-safe program of defined benefits.

Yes, by all means let's listen to the Democrats and do nothing about this problem until it's too late. Wake up America and dump these liberal idiots.

Democrat response:

"Crisis? What crisis?"

To make the pot even blacker than it is, Congress, may change the law at any time so that a recipient may well receive less than what has been Promised/Suggested, not guaranteed.

Absolutely. Frankly, they HAVE to do it if they want to perpetrate the fraud a little longer. And, if/when the Dems ever get back in power, you can safely bet that the $90K cap on taxable income is out the window.

Congresspersons and senator should be forces to retire on social security and not on their multimillion dollar taxpayer pensions...

Every time that lying POS Corzine gets on TV and lies about SS being a "guaranteed retirement system" I want to scream. The Supreme Court has ruled that the government is NOT obligated to pay anyone a dime of SS. He has to know he is lying, but apparently no interviewer does or they should bring it up.

Let's make a list of the biggest lies that the MSM reports as undisputed facts, which absolutely EVERYONE knows, and are not even disputable. (And which, of course, are all WRONG):

1. Social Security is a secure, guaranteed retirment insurance program.

2. Mankind's pollution of the environment with greenhouse gases is causing Global Warming, which will wreak horrific, catastrophic damage upon the world in the next few years.

3. George W. Bush is dumb as a post.

etc... etc...

And you're right: NO reporter calls the Dems on this nonsense.
