Oh! I love the 'or know someone who does' abuse of statistics as a way of proving aberrant behavior is widespread! What's surprising is that 100% of HS students don't know the few freaks who cut themselves, I guess 30% just go through life blissfully unaware of their surroundings or only consider themselves as 'knowing' fellow students when they are actually friends.
OTOH, should New Zealand lock up the Maoris as mental cases because of their practice of bodily 'adornment' with self-inflicted scars?
