And The Winners Are, Victoria Toensing and Bruce Sanford...
Feb 23, 2005 | Doctor Raoul

Back in October of 2003, I offered a $100 RuthsChris Steakhouse gift certificate to the first journalist who would tell the public whether Val Plame was or was not a "Covert Agent" according to the law in question.

YO' MEDIA, FREE MEAL OFFER: Is Joe Wilson's Wife a "Covert Agent" Under That Law?

abner and jimfree added $100 each, bringing the bounty to $300.

It went up 10/5/03 and after almost EIGHT months, I recided the offer on 5/31/04 due to lack of response, even though we had faxed the offer to numerous Washington newsrooms and bureaus.

By that time, I figured either the prosecutor or a non-journalist would answer the question first and we'd be paying out for stenography, not investigative journalism.

Though the offer has expired, the DC Chapter of FreeRepublic.com is mailing Bruce and Victoria each a $25 Gift Card to TGI Fridays for their Washington Post op-ed which answered the question. TGI Friday's is located at Reagan National Airport so we hope to make their next airport delay a little more pleasant.

Funny how the Washington Post had to rely on NewsMax to get the word out.

Perhaps these two could start a class action lawsuit against Joe Wilson, the DNC and the liberal media to recover the costs of an unwarranted investigation, or at least have Joe Wilson "frog marched out of Foxhall for fibbing".

In the words of Dennis The Menace, "Jeepers Mister Wilson, you lied."

Neat that the other paper picked it up last week and then NewsMax chose to highlight it.

It can't be said enough.

From word-detective.com:

When "frog-march" (also sometimes called "the frog's march") first appeared as slang around 1871, it meant to carry a prisoner (or a drunk being ejected from a bar) face down, with each of four husky men holding an arm or leg. The term comes from the resemblance the recipient of the procedure bears to a frog with its limbs splayed out. Today, however, "frog march" is usually used to mean the less dramatic (but equally effective) method of forcibly propelling a prisoner forward while pinning his arms behind him.

NO problem. I wonder if Sanford and Toensing know about their "winnings" yet?

The media can't claim bias, all we wanted was an answer one way OR the other.

You've been here long enough to know better than to post full Washington Post material.

Judith Miller brought this out on Charlie Rose last night.

Judith Miller brought this out on Charlie Rose last night.

That is so interesting.

You know, while the Appeals Court judges refer in their individual opinions to the seriousness of outing a covert agent, the main decision quotes from the subpoenas and they grand jury wants Miller not only to tell them what a specified government official told her on or between 7/6 and 7/13 about Plame, if anything. They want to know what was said or documented about Iraq seeing to buy uranium.

I wonder why the grand jury wants to get into that aspect if all they looking at is the narrow question of Plame, her status at CIA and who "outed" her. I just wonder about that.

Oh, and for Cooper they want any source(s) for what he heard about Plame and about Wilson himself AND about Wilson's trip to Niger.

All so intriguing.

Third time: I didn't know. I don't think I've ever even posted an article, so I have no reason to know.

It was a mistake for which I'm sorry. Good enough?

Was a bit of head fake there by the WAPO. I had to use in my link the reprint from the WAPO on the Provo Utah Herald.

Be nice to Victoria and Bruce, they may need someone to go to lunch...

Seeing the price Joe Wilson has paid for his crime; reminds of another Demrat who is more than deserving of public attention.

Anyone know what has happened to. . .with. . .the 'sock stuffer'; Andy Berger. . . .

Is Mr. Berger traveling around Europe on an extended vacation. . .retired to a 'finca' in Argentina?

Wearing iron bracelets around his house and not getting out much? What. . .???

Don't know, but if I were the judge, I'd see that his library card gets pulled.

Thanks.
(Please don't think I am lazy for not looking it up myself; it did not occur to me that it would be available on line.)
