Two signs that this case maybe turning in Terri's parents' favor: the NY Times now refers to Terri as being "severely disabled" (as opposed to "in a vegetative state") AND the NY Times ended its latest article about the Schiavo case(published minutes ago)with the line, "Michael Schiavo lives with his girlfriend and their two children." It seems the Times is changing its tone a bit when covering this case, which may indicate the truth is getting out. (Of course, the Times itself has helped perpetuate the lies about this case; now, they're just playing CYA. Nevertheless, it's a positive sign.)
(Of course, the Times itself has helped perpetuate the lies about this case; now, they're just playing CYA. Nevertheless, it's a positive sign.) A very positive sign. They realize that going to what I would call 'stage 3 lying' [I just made up the term] is a bad idea in the era of the Internet.
Stage One lying is when the news media say something they know is false.
Stage Two lying is when the news media say something which they know many people know to be false, but hope people will consider to be a subject of 'honest debate'.
Stage Three lying is when the news media say something knowing not only that it can be proven false, but that they can be proven to have known it to be false.
Once the lie escalates to Stage Three, it can only be a matter of time before it unravels, and anyone who persists in telling it will damage themself severely in so doing.
