Guess someone forgot to tell my wife's ipod battery and my first generation one that is only supposed to last 18 months. Hers is over two years old and mine is 3. What a crock that is, if you need to replace your ipods battery don't send it to apple just go to http://www.ipodbattery.com/ and do it yourself.

Thanks for that link. When I bought my 15G model last year at Best Buy they had a deal for $45.00 when the battery dies I take the iPod back to Best Buy with my receipt and they give me a new iPod.
It's good someone has after market batteries tho.

Thank you so much for the site. My iPod battery just went dead on me and I didn't want to spend $99 and send it to Apple. The battery is only $29 if you want to install it yourself. That's quite a savings!!
Thanks a bunch.
