Laci Peterson's estate owns at least half of the home. Scott Peterson and his parents own the rest. The home will be listed for sale in the next couple of weeks, according to Rocha's attorney, Adam Stewart. There is no way he can PROFIT from her death; his part will go to Laci, therefore to her parents, as next of kin.
The tacky Petersons are stealing things that they have no right to.
Without letting the Rochas go through Laci's things.

Is this really considered PROFITING from her death as (under CA law) he owned 1/2 of everything anyway. I would think everything would be split 50/50 between the two families, but don't know the legalities of this. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I agree with you that this activity doesn't shed a good light on the Petersons. They should have found a better way to handle things. It speaks volumes, doesn't it?

Don't think so. The house was an existing 'investment' presumeably co-owned with Laci. Sale of that asset would not be considered profiting from her death. In any case, I extracted a quote from the article and the article says that 'Laci's estate owns at least half' and 'Peterson and his parents own the rest'.

I'd like to know how come they had to break the locks if they were entitled to 50%?
