A major earthquake occurred at 10:42:10 (UTC) on Wednesday, March 2, 2005. The magnitude 7.1 event has been located in the BANDA SEA. (This event has been reviewed by a seismologist.)

And there was a 4.6 in eastern Arizona, as well.

Draw a line across a globe from the big one near Indonesia to Arizona and continue on.

Chicago is DOOOOOOMED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, I'm concerned about the New Madrid fault, which is relatively near here in Memphis. And the folks here don't have the slightest clue about earthquake building codes or preperations.

This was 12 hours ago. No Tsunami. BUT 7.1 will get my attention any day.

Click on the globe and then click to slid south on the map. Looks pretty much due north of Darwin, Australia.
