Lie down with dogs, get up with fleas.

Latest news from the Communists in Italy.

Putting pressure on GW Bush for a "full investigation".

Also, count the number of times the US MSM today makes a reference to the journalist as a Communist, Anti-American Journalist, or how many times they cover the deeper issues over with Michael Jackson or Martha Stewart.

(Then again, maybe the Martha Stewart national 24/7 obsession is good timing!)

After all the media hype,
the truth:

Despite a phone call from U.S. President George Bush to Berlusconi, during which the American leader expressed regret and promised to investigate the incident, anger was not assuaged in Italy nor abroad.

"Another victim of an absurd war," said Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio, leader of the Green Party.

A communist senator called for a demonstration in front of the U.S. Consulate in Milan.

A statement by multinational forces said U.S. troops tried to warn the occupants of the car carrying Sgrena as it sped toward a checkpoint in western Baghdad about 9 p.m. local time. U.S. troops "attempted to warn the driver to stop by hand and arm signals, flashing white lights, and firing warning shots in front of the car," the statement said. "When the driver didn't stop, the soldiers shot into the engine block, which stopped the vehicle."

U.S. official said two people were wounded, but Berlusconi said three were, including Sgrena, Calipari and another intelligence officer.

Sgrena was taken to a U.S. military hospital where she underwent a minor operation to remove a piece of shrapnel.

It's George Bush's fault for not informing the driver he was operating his vehicle in a war zone.

ROTFL! Yeah, we "deliberately shot at the Italians". They were running a roadblock on the way to the Airport. Suicide bombers don't slow down and identify themselves either.

I don't know why Italy is whining. They are completely responsible for this incident.

How about the American Communist Party - MSM

I could not help but notice the other day when the story was first reported, that the tv reporters did not mention right off, that this might be an accident and a mistake, reporting as if the US troops shot this woman on purpose.

GUARANTEED!! You can take this to the bank!! On the Sunday talk shows and in press conferences on Monday, neocommunists Harry Reid and Nacy Pelosi and, maybe, Dips**t Dean will demand an investigation. It will be at the instruction of the Italian Communist Party and will sound exactly like this announcement. For this next week, the dems in Congress will be working for the Italian Communists!

Our people aren't at fault.

This "journalist", who's kidnapping is still suspect, wishes to destroy the alliance. Her "friends" in the MSM have the same goal. They are going to hype this and try to turn everyone against Americans and Berlusconi. They want Berlusconi out. It'll be interesting to observe how Berlusconi handles it. If he survives the MSM whipping the population, already against the war, against us.

Americans aren't going to fall for it. Fact is the driver was at fault. Any attempts by OUR press to make our troops into murderers is going to be met with fury. I'm not concerned from our end. I do wonder if a close ally has the skill to outmanuveur the press in Italy.

I heard on one of the news nets this a.m., on CNN I think, that Sgrena is reporting that she was told by her captors that the US would try to keep her from reaching the airport. A) Why would she believe what the terrorists purportedly holding her hostage were telling her? and B) Why in Heaven's name would we try to stop her, since Sgrena seems to think we had it in for her in particular?

Boy, every time this wench opens her mouth she shoots herself in the foot.

FWIW, I hope she keeps talking.
