I'll bet some of those same men still have that same determination now, even in their 80's. I hope that isn't a lost trait. Do we still have what it takes? Do we all have to much to lose to stand up to tyranny? Especially judicial tyranny. Hell, to the best of my recollection, they don't even have an army to enforce their edicts. ;-)

"But I think she's entitled to a Guardian Ad Litem, especially since her legal guardian has several obvious conflicts of interest. . . . She's had at least one GAL in the past, but apparently he's been removed by Greer at some point."

Right, and doesn't this send up warning flares?

I just wish someone would get her hooked up to a polygraph and ask her what she wants. She doesn't need to be able to talk to show how she feels.

Not a bad idea. She deserves that much.

It's pretty ironic how your vague charge of 'slander' is in itself a slander. I think you ought to identify what you meant by slander--with specificity--or apologize and shut the hell up.

Anything less is quite cowardly and trollish.

Thanks for the information. I will be calling into the radio show that Congressman Weldon is going to be on tomorrow.

I am not going to steal his thunder. I will focus on the fact that new diagnotic tools (functional magnetic resonance imaging) would be able to establish what type of therapy will be the most helpful in helping her to recover.

An article appeared recently in the NYT no less touting this diagnotic tool.

Betcha she knows! Apparently she draws away when he is in the room.

OTOH . . .:

Terri goes Goo~Goo eyes over Attorney Gibbs

By Cheryl Ford RN
February 25, 2005

Last night at hospice Terri's father, Robert Schindler and Attorney Gibbs visited with Terri. Mr. Schindler was the first to enter Terri's room, approaching Terri on her right. As always, Terri was delighted to see her Dad until Mr. Schindler announced that Mr. Gibbs was with him.

Mr. Gibbs moved closer to Terri's left greeting her with, "Hello Terri."

Terri, hearing Mr. Gibb's deep voice immediately turned to her left to look at him. Terri's Dad stated that once she eyed Mr. Gibbs that was the end of his visit with her because she was no longer interested in anything he had to say to her..."she was goo-goo eyes over Attorney Gibbs."

Mr. Schindler then exclaimed, "Terri, Terri, look at me. I've come here to see you as well and now you cannot take your eyes off of Attorney Gibbs, what am I chopped liver?" Terri responded with laughter to her father's comment but her eyes remained focused on Mr. Gibbs.

Bob said,"Well, Cheryl that's the last time I will be taking Mr. Gibbs along with me since my daughter did not hear anything I had to say once he had her attention."

Mr. Schindler told this story in Jax. No one in the media expressed disbelief or asked for clarification even though his account differs from the "official" account that she is unresponsive.

Good Picture of a Mean, Vile Man! He has attempted to murder an innocent, viable Woman twice by ordering that she be starved and dehydrated to Death, a horrific Death by those means.May Justice finally be served for Terri this time, that she be cared for and loved properly and protected from the assaults of her horrific estranged Husband.

"I am not certain of the appropriate terminology, but are the complaints cited based on administrative violations or criminal violations?"

I'm not sure I understand the question.
If you're referring to the original case involving Terri, it's essentially a civil matter involving injunctive relief.
If you're referring to the issues raised in the DCF petition, I haven't read the actual document but it would seem to me it would be an administrative inquiry. That doesn't mean, in general, that matters looked at in an administrative process or that form the basis of an administrative process couldn't be criminal in nature as well or lead to criminal charges. But at this point, my assumption is that it's an administrative inquiry.

All the usual disclaimers about the above being my personal opinion, etc, etc.

I believe that Greer has already refused to hear the DCF motion.

How do the courts work in FL? In SC we have circuits and the judges rotate the different counties in whatever state circuit they are assigned to. The judge that heard your motion might not hear your second motion or be your trial judge. This case sounds more like federal court where judges are assigned to specific cases. I don't understand why this lunatic can't recuse himself and let some fresh air into the case. Especially in a situation where his he has to rule on his own judgments. Judges rarely reverse themselves.

If I'm not mistaken, and I stand to be corrected, I believe that Greer has already refused to hear the DCF motion.

I heard that there's a hearing with the DCF scheduled for next week, Wednesday, I think.

If your position is true, Judge Greer will be doing Michael a HUGE disservice, if he doesn't let the DCF investigation go through.

Better to let Michael's good name be proven than let Terri die, and the public call him "OJ" forever afterwards (which they will definitely do).

Does this make sense?

she is under armed guard

Apparently the guard is to keep a prolifer from stealing the body before it is dead and taking it away to legitimate therapy outside of FL. Michael R. Schiavo, who goes out of his way to call himself "pro-choice," obviously lives in fear that someone will steal his evidence.

I don't think MRS cares if people call him "O.J." thereafter so long as he collects the big bucks as soon as possible.

"Usually only fellow crackpots agree with me."

There are those who would say your record remains intact.

"Hell, to the best of my recollection, they don't even have an army to enforce their edicts."

Actually, you hit it right on the head. The judiciary has no inherent enforcement power of its own. Law enforcement is an executive function.
And this illustrates a fundamental threat to our entire system. The interrelationship of the three branches is supposed to be co-equal. One branch respects the other out of comity. They defer to the appropriate roles of the other branches out of respect to the powers given to the other branches. And it is clearly within the authority of the other branches to 'just say no' - if and when the self-executing primacy of the judiciary crosses the line.

I don't understand why this lunatic can't recuse himself

Probably because he wants to be a hero of the euthanasia movement: his ever waking moment for years has been dedicated to destroying poor Terri. And he has had the sheriff (now state rep.), attorney general, state's attorney, other judges and so many more in his corner applauding him all the way.
