How can anyone who claims to speak of the promotion and protection of human rights--of human life--remain silent?"...

The U.S. bishops have so far remained silent.

There's the rub. Many of the US bishops are so out of step with the Vatican and so out of touch with their own flocks, that for all intents and purposes, they have put themselves outside the Church.

God help us!

Save Terri Schiavo's Life says Fédération Internationale des Associations Médicales Catholiques

To: National and International Desks

Contact: François Blin, MD, Secretary General of Fédération Internationale des Associations Médicales Catholiques, 33 1 34685576, frblin@club-internet.fr; or Cristine More, Catholic Medical Association (USA), 781-455-0259

ROME, March 9 /Christian Wire Service/ -- Press Released Statement on Terri Schindler-Schiavo from Fédération Internationale des Associations Médicales Catholiques -- World Federation of Catholic Medical Associations:

Save Terri's Life

Terri Schindler-Schiavo is condemned to die of starvation and dehydration unless a new court decision intervenes.

She is not guilty of any crime, except to be a burden for her husband and for a selfish society. She is not even clinically in a permanent vegetative state, but she has been refused a re-examination of her clinical condition.

The legal basis for this inhuman decision is that she allegedly had once expressed the wish not to be fed "artificially". However, her parents and siblings contend that this is not her will and that she, in fact, would follow the clear teaching of the Catholic Church about assisted nutrition and hydration. They raise the possibility that her husband and legal guardian has manifestedly abused her.

However, the real core of the problem is the attempt to decide about the right to life of a human being, not on the basis of her/his personal dignity, but on an external evaluation of the quality of life.

The World Federation of Catholic Medical Associations is deeply concerned for the possible consequences of such a precedent setting decision in the United States system of law. In fact, if Terri, an innocent person, can be condemmed to death, every person whose life will be considered of insufficient "quality" by a guardian or the court will be in danger of euthanasia performed by withdrawal of basic and ordinary care.

The importance of this case goes beyond this deplorable circumstance. It will open the floodgates to euthanasia in the United States, at all ages, without even a legislative decision.

The World Federation of Catholic Medical Associations, aware of the risks of this decision for both society and the future of the medical profession, strongly appeals to the United States authorities to react immediately and effectively to save Terri's life and to avoid the inevitable consequences.

The World Federation of Catholic Medical Associations appeals to the Bishops of the United States to mobilize every resource and influence of the Catholic Church to counteract this impending tragedy.

Following the teaching of Pope John Paul II and the evidence of medical sciences, we believe that no human being, including those in the permanent vegetative state, can be denied the respect due to a human person by provision of food and water, without which any person, regardless of his/her state of health, would be condemned to death.

Such a perversion of medicine will be the source of discrimination against other human beings, with enormous risks for human rights and democracy.

President of FIAMC

Why is that so hard to believe that in fact this [being dehydrated and starved to death?] was her wish?

This is a Keller "Devotional"? This moron cannot see the self-evident truth. Why is is so hard for him to believe that if HE would not want to be killed in such a barbaric manner, that he should therefore treat his neighbor as he himself would like to be treated?

Why is it so hard for him to believe that the only "evidence" that it was Terri's wish to be killed at all, much less this way, came from the self-serving hearsay testimony of her abusive, adulterous husband/guardian who has a pecuniary interest only in her death? Does Keller think that such inadmissible evidence should be dispositive in a case involving a person's very life?

Minister/part-time forensic accountant Keller says,

"Over the years, her husband Michael has become a lightning rod figure. Years ago he made the ungodly choice to start living with a woman even though he was still legally married to Terri, and they have had 2 children together. Whatever settlement money that existed has been long gone, so Michael gains nothing from Terri's death."

Why then did Michael Shiavo, referring to his wife upon whom he was and is cheating, ask, "when is this bitch going to die"?

I also wonder what Keller's "Christian" explanation would be for why he thinks it's ok in the law for a guardian to abuse an incapacitated ward, or to commit Medicaid, Medicare fraud in the hospice certification, and on and on.

Minister/part-time neurologist Keller assures us that Terri has "no brain activity". I submit that Keller evinces very little brain activity himself.

Cordially,

PRAISE GOD! (from whom all blessings come...)

Terri remains in our prayers constantly.

If they are allowed to murder Terri, to finish the job her husband started, then disabled people everywhere better watch out. It is not inconceivable that one day, all people suffering disabilities will be put out of their miseries. For the "greater good of society". Because no one will want to "foot the bill". Because those of us who are "costing society" will have no value.

Some will say this is impossible. But the things that are going on today were once thought impossible. If you had told me when I was a child, that I would see the things I'm seeing today, I along with everyone else would have told those saying it, that they were "certifiably" crazy.

If we allow Terri to be tortured and killed, we have TRULY gone over the deep end as a society.

Someone sent me a recent link with Terri's Dad showing her a board with lights on it. I know I forwarded it to everyone in my email list. But I SADLY must have deleted it. (I don't know WHAT I was thinking). But I leave all those who love her with this. Keep the faith!

God has a positive answer:

You say: "It's impossible"

God says: All things are possible (Luke 18:27)

You say: "I'm so tired"

God says: I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28-30)

You say: "Nobody really loves me or her"

God says: I love you and her (John 3:16 & John 3:34)

You say: "I can't go on"

God says: My grace is sufficient (II Corinthians 12:9 & Psalm 91:15)

You say: "I can't figure things out"

God says: I will direct your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6)

You say: "I can't do it"

God says: You can do all things (Philippians 4:13)

You say: "I'm not able"

God says: I am able (II Corinthians 9:8)

You say: "It's not worth it"

God says: It will be worth it (Roman 8:28)

You say: "I can't manage"

God says: I will supply all your needs (Philippians 4:19)

You say: "I'm afraid"

God says: I have not given you a spirit of fear (II Timothy 1:7)

You say: "I'm always worried and frustrated"

God says: Cast all your cares on Me (I Peter 5:7)

You say: "I don't have enough faith"

God says: I've given everyone a measure of faith (Romans 12:3)

You say: "I'm not smart enough"

God says: I give you wisdom (I Corinthians 1:30)

You say: "I feel all alone"

God says: I will never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5)

He calls himself a conservative, but he spent his whole show last weekend arguing for making Terri dead.

Libertarian, all they are conservative about is money. Yuck, all greed no moral counterbalance.

Yes, while there are exceptions, most liberatarians are pro-abortion, pro-euthanasia, which is pro-death.

People have a right to travel. It's the USA. And if it was against someone's guardiansjip interest, Shiavo's, perhaps, whoever does it will, I'm certain, be regarded as a hero, rescuer, lifesaver and there will be two state's court systems, involved, then the Federal systems of one or two districts, in the meanwhile, decent medical treatment could be obtained, maybe Terri could speak and indicate her own wishes, the guardianship could be terminated, criminal charges filed against Michael, the possibilities are intriguing.

"Life Tree Chronology of the Right-to-Die - Euthanasia Movement"

http://lifetree.org/timeline.html

That's an amazing link. It's all there in one place.

I can't emphasize too much that everyone MUST read this. Especially see the chart and explanation near the end, showing that there's a concerted effort to get doctors to diagnose more conditions as terminal and fewer as treatable. Even chronic conditions that many now live with successfully.

The movement for Universal Euthanasia is more powerful than most imagine, and has become well entrenched everywhere using time tested infiltration and subversion techniques. God help us all - but if we don't organize to fight this by every means possible, then all is lost, for all of us. Before long, we may all be forced into self defense mode.

>Whatever settlement money that existed has been long gone, so Michael gains nothing from Terri's death.<

Schiavo has testified, under oath, that he's doing this ultimately to get back at Terri's parents. This man is a control freak and he is tossing his wife's life (and ultimately his soul) away in the attempt to remain in control until the end.

Schiavo is a pathetic, ill man.
