Hey all, your right that BO has lost his way a bit since his good ole days. I still tune in, but mainly cuz there is usually nothing else worth having on. In a way I feel sorry for him.

I get the feeling he is trying to make as much cash as he can while he's on top. He is such a huckster now with his website and all the "Factor Gear". Does anyone buy this stuff, other than as a gag?

IMHO, the thing that changed his mind was the plagiarism charge leveled against Churchill. It is an actionable charge, one for which the University can, and should, fire him!

You're right singfreedom. This was the thing that caused O'Reilly to call for CU to fire him. Unfortunately nobody else is speaking about this. They want to bad mouth O'Reilly all nite long, but have no real valid reasons to do so. In my opinion, O'Reilly is an idependant, and far right and far left idealogues who slam him are showing their true colors.

This article is a bit unfair to OReilly, some of whose opinions I don't like and some I do.

OReilly opposed the firing of Churchill when he was calling the victims of 911 nazis.

He changed his mind when Churchill went on to advocate to another audience that they get the training to kill Americans. OReilly is correct that this is now treason.

Also, the plagiarism and false background of Churchill weren't common knowledge when this story first broke. I agree with OReilly that the plagiarism alone should get a university prof fired....those university guys live, eat, and breath anti-plagiarism.

It's gratifying to see that he's not fooling most folks.
His original appeal to many was his ostensible avoidance of doctrinaire razzel dazzel. Somewhere along the line he bought into confusing "contrarian" diatribe.
He's a major disappointment and has paid for that by losing his base.
30! Bill.

The Leprechaun is so busy that he has a staff prepare his shows and probably write his books. He is a performer now and will eventually lose audience over time. One only has to see how Imus has operated over the years and realize the supporting cast is paramount to success.

"O'Reilly is an idependant, and far right and far left idealogues who slam him are showing their true colors."

No personally I've seen a big change in Bill since I first started watching him in 2000.

How is it being an ideolouge by getting offended when he refers to Limbaugh listeners as "kool-aid drinkers" and Rush himself as a "right wing bombthrower"? THat's independent? I'd expect that from someone at DU but not someone who likes to brag he's "looking out for us".

There's also the shameful treatment he meted out to the woman who was trying to get her daughters back from her Saudi ex-Husband.

The drool wiping treatment he gave Rosie O'Donnell and his flip flopping attitude on the war in Iraq. No we are just hating Bill for being independent...we're disliking Bill for acting repugnent on more than one occasion and being quite arrogant in his reaction to to any form of criticism.

IMHO Farah was spot on in his assessment of Mr. O'Reilly.

My beef with BO is his "fame" for giving his guests "the last word".

This is BO BS.

When an interview segment is over and the guest has had the "last word", he quickly wraps the subject up with some off-the-top-of-his-head outrageous lie, distortion or smug one-liner which he represents as the Real Truth (his truth, of course.)

While a well-mannered, well-reasoned conservative guest is still opening his/her mouth to counteract O'Reilly's closing inanity, Bill is already onto the next subject or a commercial and the guest's mouth hangs there, forever a-gape.

Watch him.....he does it every time.....with liberals also.

O'Reilly is not well-grounded or well-informed in either conservative or liberal basic principles, leaving him what he has always been, an interesting flip-flop tabloid personality. This is why he's number one with politically undiscerning American viewers.

Like a pig sniffing for truffles, he hits conservative pay dirt on a random basis. I don't mind watching him, but I never would want him in my conservative foxhole protecting my back.

Morning Tx. I agree with you!

B.O. has been soooo much "in the middle", he lost me from the "get go".

He IS better than cbspmsnbcabcnbc,.......but not much.

While a lot conservatives were loving him, long ago.....

Not me!! He is too OFF, when he's off.
And not ON enough, when he's on!
He likes himself WAY too much!

That's what I believe! Thanks!

I agree with you MG.

When I first started watching BO I used to find myself nodding my head in agreement with most of what he said. His challenge to Jessee Jackson to come clean on his finances and some of the other "causes" he took on were very admirable.

Then at some point he started reading too much of his fan mail or started reading too much of his ratings data and his ego got the best of him and he started weaving all over the map. One minute he's blasting Hillary. The next he's literally kissing Michael Moore's @ss at the GOP convention and actually conceeding point to Jabba the Moore about some of the more heinous lies in his "movie".

It's sickening.

IMHO, any man who defends children and the unborn has a positive attribute, not to mention the troops in Iraq, the war on terror, against the ACLU, and a myriad of other things. If I had to guess, most conservatives agree with 90 - 95 percent of what he believes in.

Well like I said he started to lose me and cause me to question his credibility with the whole thing with the woman trying to get her daughters back...then he's on his show kissing up to Rosie O'Donnell...and then there he is again at the GOP Convention playing nice with Michael Moore.

What gives?

Then there's the outright lie he told to Drudge about not going into radio and the verbal drubbing that BO gave Matt for calling him on it?

Have you heard the Radio Factor? I did during the election. He practically gave an endorsement to John F'n Kerry and excused all of Tey-rey-zah's bad behavior and tasteless comments.

There are more instances of what has angered so many of us about Bill that could fill up an entire post on it's own.

Bill obviously is a talented self-promotor, but he simply isn't very intelligent. He's just not that bright. It shows. I respect his success. That counts for something. But not for intellect.

I agree and would probably be useful give the very short haircut I wear.

I quit watching the "big three" news anchors in the early '80's simply because I had long before picked up on the trend of bias toward anything right of center in sociopolitical events. Though I wouldn't accuse O'Really of the same sort of media crime as the "big three", I certainly think you have nailed him. His fifteen minutes have gone to his head, and the day he's watching out for me will be a cold day in Hades.

Sometimes you like Mr. O and sometimes you don't. The big three are out of business in my book, like the New York Times and most of who follow them. They print lies and put the real lead in a story, three paragraphs down. O'Reilly goes after judges who rule out of whole cloth from the bench...as SOMEONE should. Federal Judges should always follow the law. Read "Men in Black"..currently out and doing a real look into the Supreme Court and decisions that have cut away at law and our Constitution ever since it was written. O'Reilly follows the courts daily and exposes the things the mainstream press usually doesn't cover. Like him or leave him...but I won't turn him off forever because he does hit a home run every once in awhile. I don't know any in the press or on TV that do.

I've always thought that O'Rielly is a closet liberal. His show is devoted to giving liberals more air time.
