IMHO Bill's ego is outta control. That's an understatement. I have to laugh when he always says '(fill in the blank) will have to answer to me' as if the world and everyone in it is accountable to him. What a blow hard and a buffoon overwhelmed with self importance. His head is going to expolde one of these days

I saw the segments. I don't need to read another freeper's opinion... I have my own.

"Back then, as many of you will remember, O'Reilly had referred to some of the ads that the Swift Vets created about John Kerry's military service as "brutal attack ads", denouncing them outright, and stunning many of his regular viewers with his blatantly prejudiced attitude toward them."
"At no time thereafter did he treat the Swift Vets with any respect, or act as if the numerous accusations they'd made were at all credible. Yet he was more than happy to mention that Senator Kerry had volunteered to fight in Vietnam, which was not exactly the truth, and then went on to add that he had served his country honorably, which was anything but the truth."

Disagree with BO about campaign finance and all that but he would of said the same about ads that Kerry put out too.

Not so sure of that Mara. As I said he was very fawning in his discussions of Kerry on his radio show. Even excused Tey-ray-zahs stupid comments and outlandish behavior.
IMHO he would have had the velvet gloves on with John Kerry.
As he said numerous times in trying to justify what he was saying about Kerry "hey he's a Boston guy...I'm a Boston guy..."

That could be true because if I remember at the time he really wanted Kerry to come on his show. Was that right of BO? probably not.
I like him, but I do not agree with everything he says.

He's no that has had his ego go ballistic because of his success over there.
Hannity seems to have been afflicted with the same disease as of late.

Well there was a lot of column inches in this website dedicated to the fact that Sean trashed FR on his show the other day.
He used to be a regular in here from what I understand..he has a loyal following of FReepers...it was the equivalent of Rush calling us a bunch of kooks.
JimRob was the one who started the initial thread. So if it made him mad it had to have been something very wrong on Sean's part.

I saw the threads about SH. Hasn't SH later apologized to FR about the whole thingy?

O'Reilly had our Conservative family snowed for awhile. His books were under our Christmas tree. No more.
He lost my respect when he trashed the Swiftboat Vets.
Somewhere along the line, he decided to stick his finger in the wind, for ratings. At one point, he was really easy on Kerry, until he realized that he wasn't going to appear on his show. Then he started trashing him.
At least he's honest in one respect. Bloviating IS his expertise.

Ok out of curiousty...does that mean that Limbaugh's listeners should not take him seriously either?
Rush is just a man.
He is not merely an entertainer, but an entertainer of the highest degree.
He makes a ton of dough based on the number of people who listen to his show.
Therefore, in my opinion, he will say whatever is necessary to maximize his audience.
I DO believe he has some integrity, but for the most part his opinions are bought and paid for just like so many others.
So, IMO, I take him only as seriously as I would any other media celebrity.

Bill is what he is, as is Hannity, and others. Sometimes I watch based on the topic or the guest. He plays the field and tries to be all things to all people. The probably doesn't sit well with most of us because we are partisan one way or the other. Considering the options, CBS, MSNBC, CNBC, CNN, The Today show, I guess it is the lesser of evils and thats why he has a large cable audience. Not to many places on TV for conservative thought right now but it is changing and as more conservative competition arrives on the scene his audience may dwindle. I like the Beltway Boys, and Britt Hume's show.

O'Reilly is not well-grounded or well-informed in either conservative or liberal basic principles, leaving him what "he has always been, an interesting flip-flop tabloid personality. This is why he's number one with politically undiscerning American viewers.
Like a pig sniffing for truffles, he hits conservative pay dirt on a random basis. I don't mind watching him, but I never would want him in my conservative foxhole protecting my back."
Dead on.
