Don't forget the facts that:
1) The woman officer followed procedure and locked up her gun before uncuffing the perp. When the perp overpowered her, he just took her keys to get the gun. He was now armed.
2) This whole thing was caught on video - the officers who should have been watching it and protecting the elderly woman officer ... evidently weren't.
3) There was a silent alarm in the judge's chamber. The clerk pushed it to get help. It took 10 minutes for someone to respond - and then, the responder evidently did't take the panic button seriously, because the responder was overpowered by the perp, giving the perp another weapon.
I think I saw this once on the Keystone Kops.
I'm quite sure that, once all the facts are out in this case, the Atlanta PD and Gwinnett County SO are going to look like the Keystone Cops. Unfortunately, in this case, people had to really die to make the "comedy".
Please don't call the woman officer "elderly." It makes me feel ancient.
