Bush Tells Press: “Israel Must Withdraw from Settlements”
Arutz 7 ^ | Mar 16, '05 | staff

U.S. President George W. Bush reveals his true vision for the future of Israel: Removal of Jewish communities to make room for a contiguous PLO state in Judea and Samaria.

Bush's statement was made at a press conference with Jordan's King Hussein at his side.

Bush called on Israel to “sacrifice, meaning that Israel must withdraw from the settlements, there must be contiguous territory for a Palestinian state – into which a Palestinian state can grow.”

Inasmuch as the Sharon government is adopting the Bush vision for the Middle East, the current plan for expelling Jewish residents from Gaza and Northern Samaria can only be seen as the first-step in a more large-scale expulsion and demolition process that may soon encompass tens of thousands of Jewish residents living in dozens of towns and villages in Judea and Samaria.

Deputy Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has hinted repeatedly at the government’s true intentions by actually referring to the Gaza expulsions as the first phase of a broader initiative to comply with Bush’s road map for establishing a Palestinian state.

The controversial Sasson report and the soon to be released Spiegel report, damning the settlement drive as an illegal effort driven by uncontrolled government clerks usurping state authority, were designed to whip up public antagonism toward Yesha communities and provide a legal basis for tearing them down.

Both reports were commissioned at the behest of U.S. ambassador, Dan Kurtzer, acting as if the Bush Administration has started to exercise de facto sovereignty over the policies of the Jewish State.

In this context, White House spokesman Scott McClellan’s contention that Bush was referring only to Jewish towns slated for removal under Sharon’s disengagement plan, sounds like a exercise in damage control typical when a president finally says what he means.

It probably doesn't matter what geographic shape "Palestine" turn out to be---the PA will turn their area into rubble, weapon-smuggling tunnels, and bomb-making factories in short time.

I haven't read of any industry thinking of investing in "The New Palestine".

And what have the Palestinains given up? Have they decided to live in peace? Well no. Have they agreed to a wall, so Israel could live in peace? Well no. Have they notified the U.N. that they will accept an unconditional peace with Israel? Well no. Have they stopped trying to demonize Israel? Well no.

I am so fricken tired of everyone from Bush on down making demands on Israel, and not one demand on the Palestinians.

If Israel can block all attempts at killing it's people, that is considered a ceasefire and demands once again rain on Israel.

To H with those who keep demanding Israel do this and Israel do that, in the face of terrorism that has lasted for fifty-five years. Israel knows what it's like to face terrorism on a level we've seldom seen, and yet we side with the Palestinians more often than not in their demands.

How would we feel if Israel made crackpot demands on us to go PC on the insurgents in Iraq, or with Osama Bin Laden?

There are times when the Bush admiistration just loses touch with reality. Israel and our own borders are the two topics that elicit actions or inactions that are dumbfounding in their simplicity and ignorance.

With Hussein by his side: "meaning that..."

Court tennis.

I couldn't agree more. And who is to say once the Israel people leave these settlements, that the PA will take more and more and more...this just isn't right, the PA will have to give up alot more than the Isrealies have, stop and think about it, the Jewish people have given and given and lost and lost....

We are supposed to take your word for this? Where's the verbatim commentary?Against the PLO record of wanton atrocities? We are calling for "sacrifice"?
Dream on.

Makes my blood boil that Bush of ALL people would be saying that.

Let's pray it's just to make it look like he's not taking sides - and he knows the "Palestinians" will screw up before anything ever happens.

G-d help Israel if Bush isn't even on their side.

The words I want to use for this policy of Bush are ones I cannot use in a public forum! Disgusted is about the best I can come up with that can be posted here. If this is what a President who claims to be a "friend", does to Israel, I hate to think of what that carpetbagger Kerry would have thought up. Bush is a "friend" of Israel the way Chamberlain and Deladier were "friends" of Czechoslovakia in 1938. I'm ashamed of my government's appeasement.

Keep in mind that trhe palesites must hold up their end of the 'agreement". It is not in their feral nature to do so.

If you'd like to be on this middle east/political ping list, please FR mail me.

As as frequently the case when it comes to Israel, pandering to terrorists is the best course.

White House: Hamas members elected in PA not terrorists

White House: "the settlements" = Sharon's withdrawal plan and unauthorized outpost

[IMRA: It should be noted that the road map calls for: "GOI immediately dismantles settlement outposts erected since March 2001."

Press Briefing by Scott McClellan

Q Scott, an apology if this has been covered already, but one of the President's comments today with the King of Jordan has made a bit of a splash in Israel. It's a comment, "Israel must withdraw from the settlements," not specifying which ones and where. Did the President really mean all settlements?

MR. McCLELLAN: I thank you for bringing that up. What the President was referring to was the withdrawal plan that is being pursued by Prime Minister Sharon, as well as the unauthorized outpost, which the road map calls for Israel to remove. So that's what he was referring to, what our position is.

Zec 2.7 Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest [with] the daughter of Babylon.

Zec 2:8 For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.

Zec 2:9 For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me.

You know the apple of his eye is a pun in Hebrew don't you, It also means the iris of the eye. I suspect this is the prophecy that Israel cannot trust America, that their trust should be in the LORD directly. It is also a promise that the Nations that mess with Israel, will pay dearly, no matter who they are.

Expecting those carpetbaggers on the enemy side of Israel's borders to keep their part of the "agreement" is like expecting a snake to grow legs and run the marathon at the Olympics!

Yes, I've heard that it is a pun, someone explained it to me a while back. Your interpretation of Zechariah is right on the money, exactly right. I fear that our foolish government is going to try to shaft Israel one time too many and end up being confronted in some manner by the Lord. Bush's "evangelical christianity" has no credibility with me due to all this hooie about Israel having to give up land and permit a "contiguous" PA state. I voted for a third party in the last election, and with this stuff going on, I'm glad I did. I wasn't in a battleground state, so I felt in conscience I could vote third party. I know this, Kerry would be even worse. I hate to think of what that no-count Catholic-in-name-only carpetbagger would have cooked up.

Damn. Israel has never murdered innocent children to create newspaper stories for the United States. Jews have been victimized for ages and now with Bush II the victimization continues. How would George like it if we decided to put the Mexican border on his beloved ranch? And have illegals trampling through his property day after day? He totally lacks empathy no matter how easily he cries at state funerals.
