That's the problem. I would love to see immense gun control, but realistically, no matter how much gun control you have, the guns will still be available for criminals. Even illegally.
always great to see a statist join free republic.
Both in and out of government. Far back in human history one finds oppressive governments that didn't start out that way. The Second Ammendment is in place particularly for that reason.

Even with immense gun control fully implemented... a man was brutally killed in broad daylight yesterday in London by an axe-weilding idiot.
Taking away the guns won't work. The intent is what kills. The gun is merely a convenient tool with which to commit the deed.
Besides, I happen to like my guns in my house in my country, which is subject to the Constitution. Translation: I like it and I'll keep 'em. Thank you very much.
Well remind me that if we ever have the opportunity to meet and your life is threatened in my presence not to use my LEGAL firearm to protect you. I wouldn't want to upset you by using something you find so distasteful to protect you. I'll just call 911 and give the police a description of your killers.

If not guns they would use bombs. The numbers of bombs in schools every year NEVER makes the national news. I can recall nearly a dozen certified bombs in schools I attended in two states (with some false bomb threats also called in by students).
