To: need_a_screen_name

There are some actual, real AK-47's in the US. The Marines own them and use them for training. I hear the Fort Irwin (US Army OPFOR guys) troops have them, too. I'm not aware of any legal AK-47s in US civvie hands, I think all the Class III AKs are AKMs and the like.

Thanks. I thought there might be a few Class III AK-47s in the US, but for all intents and purposes, there aren't any in civilian hands. Only AK styled weapons. You would never know that by watching the nightly news.

I can't believe how many gun owners (and FReepers) have bought into and use the MSM and antigun verbiage. I also hate people using the term hi-caps when they are simply describing "full" or "standard" capacity magazines. The abortions manufactured during the AWB would be more aptly called "restricted" capacity magazines.

I'm afraid I'm fighting a losing battle, though.
