I have to quote the article because of copyright issues, but this is an important Indiana ping!
Reductions, he has said, should be phased in for districts like Muncie that are losing enrollment yet must educate a higher proportion of at-risk students.
Interestingly, the Muncie Community School System has decided to close Morrison-Mock elementary school, the building that is most readily equipped and most recently renovated, to handle such at-risk students. They are selling the recently renovated building (to the tune of several million dollars) for a pittance and looking at renovating more schools that will house a number of handicapped students.
Wanted to make my Indiana FReepers aware of this situation. This is a snowjob on behalf of the superintendent and the school board, who could have closed buildings that have documented mold problems that are much older. Something doesn't smell right here.
