Terri's husband isn't the enemy, guardian says
Orlando Sentinel ^ | February 25, 2005 | Mike Thomas

Posted on 03/19/2005 9:18:52 AM PST by EveningStar

Wolfson's report is based on court files, depositions, medical records and interviews with everyone involved.

That said, I begin with the most explosive allegation:

Did Michael try to kill Terri?

Wolfson laughs. "No!"

-----

Wolfson's report states that in the four years after her collapse, Michael "had insistently held to the premise that Theresa could recover and the evidence is incontrovertible that he gave his heart and soul to her treatment and care . . . In late autumn of 1990, following months of therapy and testing and formal diagnoses of persistent vegetative state with no evidence of improvement, Michael took Theresa to California, where she received an experimental thalamic stimulator implant in her brain. Michael remained in California caring for Theresa during a period of several months."

Says Wolfson now: "Michael was adoring of her. One nursing home complained he was hostile and abusive of the staff in championing her care. She was immaculately kept. In 13 years, she never had one bedsore."

certainly take issue with the term kill, but if you must use it, use it with more class.

And just what term did you want to substitute. What term would make you feel more comfortable about enabling the murder of a live human being?

I have read many of your posts. "do as I say, not as I do"?

Terry is on the indigent care list at the hospice and that means the state is already beginning to front her medical care.

Medicaid is a federal program.

Michael Shiavo has very likely preplanned all the funeral costs, just as I would have, and have in my own case.

The term 'very likely' is nice, but you are just imagining this. If you have any info concerning this, you could show everyone else.

The funeral will somehow tell us what???????????

Since you seem to have a major problem comprehending logical comparisons and arguments (deductive reasoning), I will just wait until the funeral happens to explain it to you. It will be much easier for you to 'get', then.

$10 million dollars is a lot to walk away from.

Especially since so many deem Michael as being $$$ hungry and cares about nothing else.

Thank you so much for sharing such incredible wisdom with me. I will never forget this moment.

You're welcome. I'm sure you'll go about your old ways. At least I can say I tried.

You mean a federal court will look at the evidence disregarding his conclusions?

They have already said they would.

Saying and actually doing are totally different. Right now, the sibs are trying to help the parents get their way.

Down the road, the sibs will see how their lives are consumed taking care of her.

Then they will want to pull her tubes/plugs.

I've seen similar cases and first intentions always are good.

Actual, hands on, is another thing.

People on BOTH SIDES have, at times, been rude, made personal attacks, etc.

If you are going to try and say that only the Pro Terri side is doing this, then you have invalidated yourself, and you know that, my dear. You would be guilty of what you claim other do. I expect better from you.

What a condescending bunch of pap.

As for your brilliant Medicaid knowledge, Medicare is a total federal program. Medicaid is a State operated and partly federal funded program.

The taxpayers in Florida are indeed fronting the bill, out of both ends of the check book.

A small point, that I really did not want to emphasize beyond pointing it out. It has no bearing on the care or the decision to terminate feeding.

Since you seem to take pleasure in spouting useless vanities at me, you can chew on that one for a while.

Not to mention her brain. I hope the individual stating "love never fails" never has a loved one in that state. Modern medicine is the only thing keeping her "alive."

"Wow...this article was posted back in February and only 11 responses. To me, this is the most important and credible articles thus far."

Makes me wonder, why now?

That is what de novo means. You start fresh - from the beginning, nunc pro tunc. Of course, I don't trust anything a Senator says, absolutely. But the actual words "de novo" were used, and I know what that means. I may be provincial, but I ain't a hayseed.

The woman had a heart attack. That is not disputed.

Incorrect. If true, tell me what are the results of a heart attack to that person's heart.

When he does, you will support President Bush won't you?
