God bless you.
Because that's just dumb. Michael Schiavo is attempting to use the civil statutes that the Florida legislature itself wrote. The legislature can hardly make something permissible and a crime at the same time.
Maybe he suffers from Munchausian(spel?) syndrome?
Terri is NO different than a newborn babe. She is NO different than a toddler. She is NO different than a CP child. She's NO different than a SUPER-premie bay. She's NO different than a soldier who's been blasted away to their 'day one'.
All of the above, rely on others to make sure they recieve their needed sustinance. WHERE do we draw the line on WHO is worthy of being fed because they can't do it themselves?????
You're welcome, of course.
"I know this sounds absurd but Michael Schiavo is going to argue that keeping Terri alive (against her wishes) is a form of punishment and thus the ex post facto problem persists."
You sure about that? Doesn't Terri need to be convicted of something (besides being disabled) or at least in some stage of the criminal process? That sounds like a frivolous legal argument to me.
That's right. A thousand miles of bad road. It's the road we're on and the planet isn't taking any of the exits.
21 and unmarried.
But, unlike you, I consider the marriage vows sacred and not something you cut when the going gets tough.
I would love my wife and do all I could to save her no matter what the condition was unless it was her desire to have the plug pulled or something....but I would dang sure have proof it was her desire and put it on paper.
And, I certainly WOULD NOT get involved with another woman while she was still alive. That is flat adultery.
That is sin.
I'm not degrading anyone. I'm stating facts. I would not want to spend thirty years with strangers and family wiping my ass. I've said that's my opinion and those are my wishes. I believe there are things worse than death. Obviously, you don't. So be it.
And if they do, well dagnabbit, there must be something wrong with them!! Put him to death too, damnit!!
Grim humor has saved me from insanity at times, especially when raising children.
Sciavo and people like him, peterson, simpson, all of them are just so repellent to me. I do think this man may be worse than OJ and Peterson if that is possible. At least they sort of killed in a rage, or OJ did. This guy could walk away but somehow he just wants to kill her for his convenience. I don't think he is afraid she will get so much better that she could pin this on him. I think he wanted all the money and she just lived on and on and on and he wants what is left.
Fine. There are instances in which I would not want to go on living either. If I was on life support for a year or so, I would stay pull the plug. I would have it on paper so my wishes were clear.
But, this case is about somebody claiming it is her wish.
Excellent points. Thank you.
I wonder how many of those people get their feeding tubes removed. I wonder how many people we never even hear of this happening too by some "loving" family member who no longer wants the person to be a drain financially. Is Terri on Medicaid?
Your comments are degrading to any person who needs such care.
You want haste in the death of another person. Why? Are you inconvenienced by the news coverage? Do you have other things to do? Are you a relative of this woman?
We take 20 years to execute a stone cold killer. Can we afford this woman a bit of time? I do hope you aren't terribly put out. If you are I suggest a nice walk in the sun {something Terri hasn't seen in five years} Enjoy!
Convenience?
Maybe it isn't about convenience, but about evidence of criminal activity, in Terri's person or testimony.
"They had no answer."
They don't have one on the National level, either. My search on Terri Schaivo on now.org turned up no results.

It's one of the most leftist, Bush-bashing sites out there.
"Because it was never investigated."
All do ya one better. How about because he was acting within the law.
