Can't Pres. Bush override this judge?

She didn't kill herself, Dave. She's still very much alive.

She is not conscious of herself or her surroundings. She is one step above a Chia Pet.

Yes. Greer won't allow it. He's denied requests for swallow tests and refused anyone to "feed that girl," according to court records.

no the judge simply used a "substantial likelihood of succes" standard for a TEMPORARY order pending a full hearing.

The judge his holding lock step to procedure. Congress passed a law to give access to the federal courts. So the federal judge is going to follow procedure to the letter. Slowly and deliberatly.

Could you ping the Floridians?

I have a question about Florida nursing home laws.

Thanks.

When you have such a heated conflict, and in the absence of no legal document...you ere on the side of life.

I heard a doctor on William Bennett's radio show this morning talking about that. He said that when it comes time to decide whether to "pull the plug" or not, his responsibility is to do what the patient would have told him to do had the patient been able to communicate. He cited one case where an old man was on full life support and not able to recover from his brain injury, but all his family members wanted him kept on life support. The doctor told them that he would never get any better, and asked them not what they wanted to do, but what HE would have wanted to do. They ALL agreed that he wouldn't want to be kept alive that way, so they authorized his removal from life suppport. As I understand this case, it's the exact same thing. It doesn't make any difference whether the family volunteers to assume the burden. Terri told several people that she wouldn't want to be kept alive that way, so that statement is what the courts and the doctors are required to honor.

And, by definition, Terri is not vegetative.

By medical definition she is. Read what the doctors and nurses say in this report about her condition, on 6/29/1990 and 5/13/1991 (PVS = Persistent Vegetative State).

Why do you assume when I choose to use the word pushpoll?

Why do you rely on crooked polls? Did you do that during the election last year, or did you question who was taking the poll, who was being polled, and what the poll questions were?

Fox News poll shows more than two to one against you.

I'm sure your own mom had chia pet days. Again -- you want a license to kill those close relatives that bother you? Move to Florida, Dave. Pefectly okay there.

I only hope that Terri doesn't think she's being tortured.

Dont worry she doesnt. She is unaware of herself or what is going on around her.

Whoops! Right you are, as usual. Although my example was incorrect, I'll still stand by the underlying theme.

Corrected copy:

He has nothing to lose. But the fallout from doing what you suggest might well cost those who wish to succeed Bush, and other candidates, the next election.

Thanks for the heads up.

Do you believe the Founding Fathers meant it when they put it in the Declaration of Independence that the Right to Life is primary?

Do you believe in Article III of the Constitution?

Do you believe in the XIVth amendment?

What others have said on this forum is irrelevant.......which is why I asked you to get to the core of the question. You didn't, and instead spent 90% of your post ragging on other freepers.

The core question is......do you think the State of Florida has the right to execute an innocent woman? That's what's happening now.

Do you, or do you not, believe that's OK?

Yes, or no.

Terri isn't on life support. There is no plug to pull.

Which makes no sense whatsoever. How on earth can he rule on the likelihood of success BEFORE holding a new trial?

That's like a judge sentencing a man to death before the trial is even held because he thinks he'll be convicted.

Or, since Terri's already dying, putting him in the gas chamber and opening the valve just a tiny little bit while the court schedules hearings.

People can't remember judges at election time. That's how they do what they do.

So what?

A poll does not decide "right" from "wrong" - PARTICULARLY, when the "polling public" has been (deliberately) misinformed by the MSM and pro-abortion forces.

"Right" and "wrong" are absolutes.
