If this was a case about someone wanting to end their life, they would do it humanely, not starve and let her die of thirst. There is something very sinister going on here. "Remove the feeding tube"...I mean what the hell is that? Do they think that`s like removing someone from a heart and lung machine after being declared brain dead? The woman is not brain dead in the least yet they are letting her die in the worst way possible. Not even serial killers die like this. And why the hell is Jack Kevorkian in jail when he HAS evidence of these people wanting to end their lives with videotapes and written statements when all of a sudden it is now legal for them to do this to this woman when there is no evidence she ever wanted to except for the statement of a man whose motives are questionable? This is insane, it really is. It makes me wonder if I ever get into a car accident and go into a coma, is my psycho ex wife going to pop out of nowhere and say "pull the plug because he said so"?
But sadly, everyone is dancing drunk to these "victories." Most Americans want Terri Schiavo, unwanted babies, and a fight for real justice put out of their minds. It's all too embarrassing, too difficult, requires too much work and thought in a throw away society.
Americans think they are doing Terri's parents a favor, because the grim truth is most Americans don't want to - and don't - care for their loved ones under extreme circumstances. We have more government aid for the elderly, and more nursing homes to dump themn in, than ever befrore. It's not because we are poorer and can't afford to care for our loved ones at home. It's because we're richer than ever before, more "free" - and we want to stay that way.
And in the end, in Brave New World, everyone becomes disposable. Nobody complains and the ones who are gone can't complain.
Just in time for Easter!! The judge asked whom shall I let live Terri Schiavo who has not been convicted of any wrongdoing or the (fictional) murderer/rapist/thug Barrabas?
