German private foundation Hellmond Foundation has offered to transfer Terri to a hospice in Bavaria and escape the US justice system which doesn't guarantee her right to live.

The clinic was founded by entrepreneur Gerhard Hellmonds to secure treatment and care for his wife who has since passed and now specializes in such care to patients in the vegetative state. A specially trained nurse offered to care for Terri free of charge at the clinic.

Boy, Terri's fight for life is making waves all over the globe!

I'd never have thought that of all places, GERMANY would have the rescuers and AMERICA the nazis.

Nice offer. I wonder if her parents would accept, presuming the tube goes back in in time....

Very nice of them, but unfortunately, her husband wants her dead so her abuse cannot be investigated.

If the parents eventually get custody they should seriously consider this. I have been to Germany in that area and it is beautiful and the people very competent.

They could try all of the rehabilitation they desire there, without Greer or Michael hanging over their heads. In either case, I will not rest easy for Terri until Bush takes her into protective custody and she is way from that Hospice and Michael.

Someone please explain the the Germans (who wanted Kerry to win) that it is the conservatives that voted for Bush that want to save Terry, and the lefties that wanted Kerry to win that don't...

The only problem is that once the court rules then Terri is under the guardianship of the court. The court is fully in control and no individual can assume the guardianship, when the lawsuit was brought and the judge ruled that Terri was to die then the court assumed full responsibility for her. To die of THRIST was used by the tyrants of the middle ages and the Nazi and the Communist, Who knew that cruel and unusual punishment would be dictated by the dictators in violation of the Constitution.

Over here is SE Asia people are dumbfounded - completely dumbfounded.

They cant believe this - We treat animals better than this.

What is worse is what it will do to our credibility overseas when we talk about freedom and human rights.

This is horrible.

The World's Superpower and Champion of Human Rights around the globe is starving and dehydrating a disabled woman to death and underage children who bring her water are being handcuffed and arrested.

Does that sum it up? Did I miss anything?

So what if Indonesia or Thailand has 6 year olds working in factories - at least they dont starve and dehydrate their disabled citizens.

If China decides to put a bullet in the brain of all their retarded school children tomorrow, what can we say or do?

Next time we want to whine because Libya or Egypt is on the United Nations human rights council we better learn to bite our lip.

Anyway, there is your perspective from over here. I will try to get more on the local reaction later this morning and report on my blog about it.

I wonder if Tony Kennedy, who apparently holds her fate in his hands now, will construe this a foreign law that magically amends the U.S. constitution in her favor. Whatever. Kennedy is lazy and craven, he just wants to be liked, he'll do or say anything so that (the right kind of) people'll like him. Unfortunately, I fear he puts more weight on the opinion of the NYT editorial board than the Constitution or some wealthly German.

The United States has become more barbaric than some other nations I formerly considered barbaric.

And thus destroys the Left's constant refrain about a "quality of living." EVERY life has purpose and meaning.

Terri has had a greater influence on the reality and potentiality of judicial activism and on the Death Cult in America than any other figure in the last 20 years.

How's that for a life with purpose? God bless and keep her.

I saw this while browsing the RSS feeds today at work. I would have translated it if I was at home.

The nurse who offered to be caretaker also had a waking coma husband at the time he cared for Hellmond's wife.

Nice story.

Thanks for posting and translating concan, and thanks for the ping Zeppelin.

Translation:

A German donation offered Schiavo to parents of the American coma female patient to let their daughter in the Federal Republic care for. It is important that it leaves the USA. The light moon donation wants to get the American coma female patient Terri Schiavo for further supply to Germany. Like the founder of the donation to favour of humans in awake coma, to which Wismarer said entrepreneur Gerhard of light moon, on Wednesday of the press agency of dpa, one would be to be cared for on such patients specialized nurse ready, Schiavo free of charge.

Eighty percent of the mostly liberal readership of the Sydney Morning Herald wants to see the state off the handicapped American lass:

Terri Schiavo's fate - Where do you stand?
Keeping her alive - 12%
Removing her feeding tube - 45%
Not keeping her alive but not starving her either - 35%
Undecided - 6%

Total Votes: 7307

But they have a long history of embarrassing poll results:

US election : Who will win?
Bush - 36%
Kerry - 64%

Total Votes: 4555 Poll date: 01/11/04

Or this doozy:

World on watch : What's more urgent?
AIDS - 5%
Globalisation - 4%
Global warming - 56%
Terrorism - 14%
Third-world poverty - 22%

Total Votes: 2680 Poll date: 25/05/04

I've already cancelled the Florida vacation I had planned for later this year. Perhaps I'll pay a visit to Germany instead.

The Germans should threaten to launch a travel boycott of Florida. Last time I knew FL was still the most popular destination for German travellers.

By all accounts modern German medical care is excellent.

Hope her parents get the chance to remove her from the menace that is our American courts.
