Jun 1 - Schiavo excused from rendering his deposition.
Jun 18 - Schiavo files an affidavit that Terri is in an irreversible vegetative.
Jun 21 - Chief Judge Demers gave Judge George Greer's Court authority to decide whether Terri should have any new medical evaluation or treatment.
Jun 25 - A three-member panel presided at the Appellate Court hearing.
Jul 11 - The Appellate Court ordered Greer court to conduct evidentiary hearings. The court denied Schiavo's attorneys request to order Terri's feeding stopped.
July 23 - Schiavo filed a motion for Judge Greer to immediately stop Terri's feeding.
Aug 7 - Judge Greer totally ignored or rationalized all the evidence presented to him. Orders Terri's feeding stopped on August 28, 2001.
Aug 10 - Attorney Anderson motion to disqualify Judge Greer denied.
Aug 14 - Greer denies request for Conducting Terri Medical Examinations.
Aug 16 - Attorney Anderson files a Notice of Appeal with the 2nd District Appeal Court.
Aug 17 - Judge Greer grants Terri a stay of execution until October 9, 2001.
Aug 20 - Schiavo files with the 2nd District Appeal Court to overrule Judge Greer stay.
Oct 7 - 2nd District Appeal Court orders Terri to be neurological tested.

Dec 19 - Attorneys meet with a mediator in an attempt to agree upon the tests .

Jan 18 - Mediated agreement failed, testing is back Greer’s courtroom to be resolved.
Jan 25 - Attorney Anderson petitioned the court for an evidentiary guardianship hearing.
Jan 29 - Judge Greer approved Schiavo's motion to cancel the evidentiary hearing.
Feb 7 - Schiavo files with the Florida Supreme Court to overturn the Appellate Court's October ruling which spared Terri's life.
Mar 14 - The Florida Supreme Court denied Michael Schiavo’s appeal.
Jun 19 - Schiavo objects to the medical and neurological testing.
Jul 1 - Judge Greer conducted a 3+ hr hearing involving three issues: 1. Schiavo’s Plan to Enroll Terri into a Medicaid Program 2 Termination of Schiavo's Attorney Fees 3. Equal Payment for Terri's Examining Doctors
Jul 10 - Court Hearing again was for the purpose of allowing certain medical tests that were requested to evaluate Terri’s true medical and neurological condition.
Jul 12 - Judge Greer ruled -not-to-pay- Terri’s doctors for their professional fees to examine Terri. Notably, in a previous hearing, Judge Greer -approved- payment for Schiavo’s doctors fees.
Jul 22 - Judge Greer approved three of Terri’s desired neurological tests and rejected a dozen other.
Aug 28 - Judge Greer established the dates for Terri's trial.
Oct 2 - Schiavo files petition to prohibit the media from seeing Terri’s recent neurological examination videotapes or airing the video’s to the public after they have been presented to the court as evidence.
Oct 2 - Schiavo petitioned the court to authorize Terri’s cremation.
Oct 11-22 Terri’s trial
Nov15 - Judge Greer conducted a hearing in response to a motion Attorney Anderson filed requesting time to investigate recent evidence suggesting Terri’s heart failure may have been caused by physical abuse.
Nov 22 - Greer orders Terri’s starvation death to begin on Jan 3, 2003.
Dec 9 - Attorney Anderson filed a ‘Notice of Appeal’ to the 2nd District Appellate Court.
Dec 9- Attorney Anderson filed a motion with Judge Greer to ‘stay’ the January 3rd feeding termination date.
Dec 10 - Schiavo filed a motion with Judge Greer to strike attorney Anderson’s motion to ‘stay,’ requesting a court hearing to argue his objection.
Dec 13 - Judge Greer acquiesced to Michael Schiavo’s attorney motion to conduct a hearing, which resulted in a ‘stay’ being granted, pending appellate resolution.
Dec 18 - Schiavo filed a motion with the 2nd District Appellate Court to overturn Judge Greer’s December 13th order.
Dec 23 - The 2nd Appellate Court denied Michael Schiavo’s attorney motion to overturn Judge Greer’s December 13, 2002 ‘stay’ order. Furthermore, the Appellate Court established filing dates and scheduled Appellate oral arguments to take place on April 4, 2003.
2003
Guardian Removal Petition Still Pending… On November 15, 2002, attorney Anderson filed a petition with Judge Greer to remove Michael Schiavo as Terri’s legal guardian. The petition included a declaration of Adversary Proceedings, charging that Michael Schiavo violated a dozen or more specific Florida Statutes while serving in his capacity as Terri’s legal guardian.

Jun - Appellate Court Upholds Greer.
Jul - Appellate Court Denies Court Review and Stay.
Jul - Appellate Court grants 30 day stay.
Aug - Terri hospitalized under mysterious conditions, denied visits from her priest.
Sep - Emergency hearing to allow visitation and obtain current medical information.
Sep - Michael Schiavo ordered by court to give discharge summary to Terri's parents.
Sep - Judge Greer scheduled October 15, 2003 for the removal of Terri's sustenance.
Oct - 15 Terri's sustenance removed at Hospice Woodside in Pinellas Park, FL.
Oct - 20 Florida Legislature and Senate meet in special session Terri's bill is introduced.
Oct - 21 Terri's bill approved, signed into law. Governor Bush issues executive orderr.
Oct - 23 Michael Schiavo announces plans to sue Governor Bush and challenge Terri's Law as unconstitutional.
Oct - Dr. Jay Wolfson of Tampa, Florida assigned as independent Guardian ad Litem.
Nov - New Guardianship hearing in Sixth Circuit court.
Nov - Disability advocacy groups file Amicus Brief.
Nov - Judge Baird to hear case on Terri's Law. Governor not properly served in suit, appeals venue.
Nov - Governor Bush petitions to remove Judge W. Douglas Baird on suggestion of bias.
Dec - 3 Terri's birthday. Supporters convene at Woodside Hospice. Terri receives more than 1,000 birthday cards and gifts.
Dec - Governor Bush denied discovery in Schiavo v Bush. Governor denied subpoenaing witnesses.
Dec - 20 Guardian ad Litem dismissed by Judge Demers.
Dec - 22 Judge Baird rules that he will issue a summary ruling on Terri's law without a trial. His ruling is withheld until appeals by Governor Bush are ruled upon in the Second District Court of Appeals in Lakeland, Florida.
2004

We are watching a cruel, inhumane MURDER on television. We are being forced to watch a snuff film. We are being force fed a policy shift in our nation by people of the worst ilk. This is a great EVIL. I cannot believe that, with all the evidence that should give her the benefit of the doubt, we are seeing this happen in America in 2005. If this is what we have become, we no longer deserve what we have. God should rip it away and plow us under.
The Judicial Branch is out of control and must be reminded of what their purpose and job is in our government. All judges involved in this case need to be impeached and thrown into prison!!
I actually heard that Judge Greer roomed with Jim Morrison in South Florida while in college.
Can you insert the more interesting features of Michael's dating history?
The court, in 1997 when Michael announced he was 'engaged' should have immediately conducted a guardianship hearing and transfered Terri to State guardianship. Because of this failure, we are in the present situation.
Questions that need to be immediately considered:
(1) Why did Michael choose to 'ignore' her wishes for nearly 7 years until 1997 when he announced he was'engaged' to Jodi Centonze and 'suddenly' remembered the conversation about life support with Terri from years before?
Respondent answer would most likely rationalize that it took that long before Michael Schiavo realized there was 'no hope for recovery...'
(2) However, the 1992 malpractice suit for $20 million was based on the premise/conclusion that Terri would NOT recover and she would require constant medical care for the remainder of her life estimated by Michael Shiavo and his laywers to be 51 years(which is the normal life expectancey)...Where were her WISHES at that time?
(3) The court, in 1997 when Michael announced he was 'engaged' should have immediately conducted a guardianship hearing and transfered Terri to State guardianship, at a minimum because of the obvious conflict of interest on the part of Michael Shiavo.
The court system failed to act at that point, and that is a major factor on why we are at the point we are today.
(4) Guardianship, by law and practice, is determined to be given to that person who is most heavily 'biased' in favor of the disabled person. Under most conditions this would be the spouse. However, most prudent courts, if during the guardianship period, the appointed guardian by circumstances or accident tilts the 'bias' away from the interest of the person so guarded, would conduct an immediate review, and at a minimum, transfer guardianship to the appropriate State agency.
An additional thought, as I presented it to my class at the university yesterday and I posed the question to the students:
If Terri Schiavo's medical condition, feeding tube et al, was exactly the same as it is, age 25, etc. with the single exception that she was not 'mentally' disabled but had all other functions; and she expressed a desire to have the feeding tube removed and wanted to die, what would we do?
Of course the answer is clear, she would not be allowed to make that 'choice' and would be sent for counselling, etc.

Look I wanted them to find otherwise as well but no laws have been broken by these judges. They looked at the evidence and made a decision based on it. I'm all for changing the laws regarding people in Terri's condition to avoid this in the future.
Isn't it Felos who has links to the Hospice and not Greer?

Actually, according to a chart, Greer has taken money from a number of parties interested in this case, Felos in particular.
Oh, and Greer accepted hearsay testimony. That's a no-no.
I saw Brian Schiavo on TV making the rounds of the talk shows. He sticks up for his brother Michael.
Is the whole Schiavo family like this? A bunch of heartless killers?
If that's true then I'm all for it in his case.
Now I wonder if thats why Felos got off the board of directors of florida suncoast, the owning body of woodland hospice where she is at. or did he get replaced to due a time limit?
The bottom line for me is that Greer is really the only judge who has dealt with this case and other courts have dealt with technicalities of the trial only.

When Greer came into adulthood in the 1960s, he was about as counterculture as Barry Goldwater, the presidential candidate he voted for in 1964. One of Greer's favorite bands is the Bee Gees.
His biggest brush then with nonconformity: being cited for underage drinking about the time he entered FSU and hunting without a license in 1959.
Greer, whose family moved to Dunedin when he was 4, spent 21/2 years at St. Petersburg Junior College before entering Florida State University in 1962 as a 20-year-old. He majored in marketing.
He moved to a house about a mile from the FSU campus with a friend and some students he didn't know. Greer described the house this way: "Jim Morrison and five normal people."
One Halloween, Greer recalled, Morrison greeted children out trick-or-treating at the front door completely naked. Morrison had lighter fluid in his mouth. He spit it out, touching a match to the fluid to create a roaring flame.
"The poor little kids ran screaming to their parents," Greer said.
The Morrison biography, No One Here Gets Out Alive by Jerry Hopkins and Daniel Sugerman, provides a description Greer won't contradict.
Morrison "drank their beers, ate their food, and wore their clothes without asking," the book said of Morrison's relationship with his housemates.
"He kept careful records of all his actions, and their reactions, writing in his journals as if he were an anthropologist and his housemates were his subjects. In less than three months' time, Jim had the household frantic. Everyone was living in a constant state of anxiety over what was going to happen next.
"It all blew up one night in December ... when Jim was playing Elvis too loud."
After one semester, the housemates asked Morrison to leave. He transferred to UCLA in California, where he found fame.
"He was a bright guy," Greer said. "He liked his tequila. All of us at one time or another had him on the floor with our fists raised."
EXCERPTS FROM CYNTHIA SHOOK MAY 8, 2001 DEPOSITION
Backround:
In late 1991, 1½ years after Terri’s collapse, Michael Schiavo became involved in an intimate relationship with Cindy Shook. The romance continued for approximately one year. It can be documented that the two spent a weekend at the Don Caesar hotel in St. Petersburg Beach and they also contacted a Century 21 Realtor on the premise of purchasing a home.
In May of 1992, at the apex of the romance, Schiavo had Terri’s 2 pet cats euthanized to clear the way for his moving in with Cindy and her pet dog.
In the summer of 1992, Schiavo moved into his parent’s home. We can speculate with reasonable accuracy, it was at the instructions of his attorney, since the living arrangement would be contrary to Schiavo’s "loving husband" image they were projecting for the upcoming November 1992 malpractice trial.
In April 2001, Cindy Shook (married name Brasher) was interviewed by an investigator working in Terri’s behalf. Unwilling to come forward because of her immense fear of Schiavo, Cindy had to be subpoenaed and was then subsequently deposed on May 8, 2001 to try and learn more regarding her intimate knowledge of Michael Schiavo’s character traits.
Excerpts; May 8, 2001 Deposition:
Cindy Shook describing Schiavo’s possessiveness.
"he’s very jealous. He stalked me at my…at where I worked after I stopped dating…when he would get mad at me he would tell me, I would rather be laying in bed in the nursing home with her than with you. I mean he can be the most incredibly mean person"
When asked if she were afraid that Michael would physically harm her or if he would harm children.
"I am concerned about retaliation because I have a child -I have children and a husband. I know him, I know what he told me I said he could be a very mean person."
She spoke of how Schiavo stalked her for close to a year after the breakup and that she received repeated phone calls.
"He came on the floor looking for me several times. I felt it was out of character for him to get a job as an orderly at the hospital That was concerning to me. When he would come up to the floor looking for her she was not scared the first time but later was scared.
In town I would look up when I was driving…not at my work- she would look up in the rear view mirror and there would be Michael Schiavo. I would look up and he would be behind me in traffic. It continued for several months after he didn’t work at the hospital. She would change lanes, try to make a turn and he would do the same. He did this about ten times.
One time he was behind me in traffic he got next to me in a two-lane going the same way, and he changed lanes basically right on top of where I was at, and I had to swerve not to be hit. I had to swerve off the road. Michael ran me off the road. I considered it as stalking, dangerous and guessed potentially life threatening."
Cindy thought about getting a restraining order. She talked to an off duty police officer in her building
They discussed marriage. She said Schiavo asked what would you do if I asked you to marry me. He never discussed getting a divorce.
Cindy said Schiavo got angry when asked questions about Terri saying:
"this had destroyed his life and he was being robed of a normal life."
Regarding Terri’s care, according to Cindy Shook, Michael Schiavo said
"How the hell should I know we never spoke about this, my God I was only 25 years old. How the hell should I know? We were young. We never spoke of this."
I firmly believe that it is the proper time for the other two Branches of Government to naturally realign/adjust the balance of power in this country (I do not consider the media or the banking establishments to be the Fourth or Fifth Branches, as an aside).
The Legislative and the Executive Branches definitely need to start clipping back on the judiciary's over-reaching grabs at power, and in some cases potential procedural abuses. It is a healthy Constitutional function to have the different Branches kind of "war" it out (in a procedural sense) amongst themselves when one branch over-reaches its Constitutional authority or engages in an activity that may require clarification from a Constitutional perspective.
Similar to how the ACLU and liberal groups push highly experimental "test" cases to further their agendas, it would be nice seeing an experimental "procedural homicide" charge floated up as a trial balloon to see how far it goes and see if a precedent can be established.

Schiavo can't legally marry his fiancee since he's still legally married to Terri. They do have two kids and have been living together for years but they aren't married.
Well Greer should be put in prison because he is party to murder.The other Judges involve din this should be Impeached because they lazy-and Ignorant of the US Constituion-and contemptuous of the expressed will of the
Legislative and Executive. I would not go so far as to suggest these all ought be sent to prison-but they ought be IMPEACHED. And I really have doubts about Gov. Jeb Bush,and
President Bush --who claimed to have power only to refuse use it? IF the Judiciary is now the LAW then America could
retire the national debt simply by allowing the Legislative and Executive branches of our government die from dehydration and lack of food. Clearly the Judiciary has NO concern for the US Constitution nor the clearly stated purpose for government (to secure the God given Rights) They violate the Law at will,so why bother with
written Law or those branches of our Federal government
that Hamilton said were intended to be stronger than the

When civil awards are made, they should be "held" for the purposes for which they were made. This wouldn't be occurring if that were the case.

Judge Greer set aside the settlemnt money so that Medicaid couldn't spend it down when Greer and Felos put Terri into the hospice. This is Medicaid fraud. They didn't get Capone for murder either.
