A fellow I know has an interesting way of thinking. I wouldn't call him a conspiracy theorist, but he has held an intriguing theory for years. He has said many times over that he suspects that Michael Jordan's first retirement was not a retirement at all but an agreement with N.B.A. Commissioner David Stern. Jordan would sit out a year or two, my friend theorized, rather than having Stern suspend him for gambling.
With that agreement, Jordan would pay a penalty, but neither he nor the National Basketball Association would be embarrassed.
No such scenario has ever been proved, and Jordan has never been charged with doing anything illegal. But now comes Barry Bonds, who melodramatically and exaggeratedly said the other day that he might miss this entire season because of a surgically repaired knee.

I saw Bonds on ESPN while I was exercising at the gym a couple of days ago. He continued to stake a claim to being the biggest whiner in major league sports.
To: Joe Bonforte
Bonds will never set foot on the field again as a player. Mark my words. He will retire with this latest injury and try to preserve his place in the record books.
If baseball does not get credible about steroids, they will lose me as a fan. I do not want to send that kind of a message to my kids.
I have learned to live without hockey. (I have a wife! Who knew?!?) I can learn to live without baseball.

Seems futile to try and discuss any other topics around here right now, doesn't it?

The NY Times is a racist rag. They're going after Barry because he is black!!! I'm hoping you simply forgot to put the sarcasm tag at the end of this. I mean the NY Times is a worthless rag, but this has nothing to do with Barry's color.
To: Bigturbowski
I didn't forget, I've been urged to no longer use the sarcasm tag for maximum effect.

OH.. well in that case LMAO

It's just sooooo convenient that Bonds is on the disabled list. Players on the disabled list are not tested for steroid use. The guy is a POS.

Bonds needs the juice to recover from his knee injury.
To: Stellar Dendrite
Careful not putting on the tag, though. I've never used it that I can remember, and I get flamed by the humor-impaired quite frequently. Personally, I love it, but your mileage may vary.

I saw Bonds pitiful cowering performance the other day. He looks like Erkel without glasses now that he has to be off the juice. He's be lucky to get 20 homers legit. The man is a fraud. And it appears that McGuire was also.
At least Sosa only used a corked bat!

Where would Arnold Schwarzeneggar be without steroids?
No Mr. Olympia, no movie career, no political career, etc,
etc, etc...
