I am studying German right now. One of my workbooks had a conversation between two Berliners as they discussed the most important events over the last century. Hitler was not mentioned, and neither was Ronald Reagan. But, JFK telling everyone he was a jelly donut was very high on their list.
Just for general information the Chariot on top of the Brandenburg gate is turned around. In this picture it is pointing East, but it SHOULD be pointing West. The Brandenburg Gate was just inside the Wall. The East Germans turned it around.
