Here we go again. Another fake memo story is handled quite well by new media types John Hinderaker and Cliff Kincaid and along comes the defender of all things old media Howard Kurtz to set the record straight.
Kurtz is again put in the uncomfortable position of trying to spin another one of his employers and the rest of the old media out of a poor decision. This time the implication is that the GOP was willing to politicize the Terri Schiavo case. To get to that point, the proof the old media cited was a poorly worded, rambling note that was unsigned and was being distributed by Democrats to Republicans. They called it "talking points" and imply that the "memo" was written by the GOP.
The defense is comical.

What is the email address for ABC News????
BWAAAAHAHAHA! The Old, has-been media is caught again. I second Senator Lautenberg's call for a full investigation. Let's get to the bottom of it.
Was it faxed to capitol hill from a Kinko's in Texas?
The memo probably was distributed TO Republicans on the floor.
But it wasn't distributed BY Republicans. Which is what they won't tell you.

Good post, thanks!
Are they still there?
They keep huffing and puffing, promising to blow all our houses down if we don't acknowledge the agenda they've prepared for us each day. We're not supposed to be still discussing the Schindler-Schiavo matter because they settled it a few weeks back in their editorials. Why are we still questioning their authority? Why can't we be more like the Democratic Underground -- rejoicing in every human tragedy and misfortune, as should be the lot of all people under their enlightened liberal rule. Mankind was not meant to think for themselves or God wouldn't have created New York Times/Washington Post columnists/editorial writers.
All hail the mainstream media gods. Obey and do not question anymore. Everyone return to your cubicles; there is nothing going on. Debate what we said is the news and the issues. "Ignore the man behind the curtain!"
This is different from the posted article's claim that the memo was: handed out to Republicans by Democrats .
The Kurtz claim does raise the interesting question of who is the "Democratic member" and who is the "Republican Senator" that he/she claims to have gotten it from.
Presumably the Post knows, and we have the usual situation where they sit on this knowledge, which could disprove their own claim (and also hold it over the head of the alleged source if they ever get out of line).
A far-left acquaintance pushed back yesterday when I denounced this fake memo by asking, "Has Santorum's office denied that he had anything to do with this, yet?" I hadn't heard that anyone was accusing Sen. Santorum of involvement, e.g., originating the memo. Has this come up in any other discussions?
The MSM media is imploding. It's funny to watch. Eventually, the MSM will start typing up phony memos and dropping them throughout the House and Senate and will then magically find them.
The first one of course will be entitled, "How to Disenfranchise Blacks." Linda Douglass will find it in the Senate Trash and claim it had to be typed by the Republican leadership.
These people are so pathetic and lame.
I don't think they're WORTH writing to anymore, let alone watching.
I don't think they're WORTH writing to anymore, let alone watching.
>I don't think they're WORTH writing to anymore, let alone watching.
Agreed. Fool me once, shame on you-fool me twice shame on me. Those folks are getting rather pathetic.
Excuse the double post.
This is the video that should be shown on the news everynight - it is even more powerful than the balloon video.

This is not reflex action - she heard the doctor, she opened her eyes as wide as she could to impress him.
Even Fox news has ignored this clip.
