Nope. I drink water, fresh juices and herbal tea, especially green tea. The green tea has done wonders for my skin.

This is no surprise. Our bones and muscles are made of protein...which means we need to eat protein to build them up.

I have green tea every morning. And I have been drinking soy milk for years instead of cows milk for the calcium.

It was purely a health decision. My mother had a hysto for fibroids and there is cancer on both sides of my family. Weight loss was last on my list for picking a vegetarian/vegan diet BUT replacing coffee with green tea, I've lost five pounds in two weeks.

If God didn't mean for us to eat animals, then why did he make them out of meat?

Thank you for the interesting post.

My mother is a ninety-one year old lifetime lacto-vegetarian. Many years ago she had bone scans that revealed very low bone mass. The doctor told us she could easily break her wrist turning a key in a door.

Puzzlingly, and thankfully, she's had no fractures, has perfect posture, and no joint problems at all. I'll try to find out more about "turnover" and the other points in the article.

We are careful to see that she gets a nutritious diet with plenty of calcium, protein, Vitamin D, etc.

I have heard that (about replacing coffee with green tea). Is there any particular brand of tea that you like best? I bought some Trader Joes and it doens't really thrill me.

I've never been much of a milk drinker, but Silk soymilk is really good. Too bad my boss doesn't carry it. I like green tea with a little raw honey in the afternoon. For some reason I can't drink green tea in the morning. Makes me ill.

I used to be a veg email list that had a lot of PETA members and I couldn't tolerate it. I've been invited to some of their meetings but no way. I don't like the energy. You're right. A lot of college kids take up vegan eating because it's trendy. Carol Alt is a raw foodie but she eats sashimi and is a 'paleo-diet' type. She's not given to some of the nuttery.

Breezy Morning, Yogi Tea and my sister brought back bags and bags of green, oolong and jasmine from Vietnam and Japan. Oolong is really good after a fatty meat meal.

I take anything the "Physicians for Responsible Medicine' say with a grain of salt. The Masai Mara live off of goat milk and cow blood. Human beings are pretty resilient. As far as studies are concerned, the Hebrew Israelites living out in Dimona have reversed every disease that black Americans are supposedly genetically prone to.

I ran into a vegitarian once: we both were walking around a corner in a hurry.

Poor fellow, he got concussed, and broke a leg. I had a bruise.

Though he was lighter, impact forces on both of us were the same.

Yes, but everytime they put something out, the MSM runs full blast with it, and NEVER points out this is just a front for PETA. It takes all of 30 seconds on google to find out exactly what PRM is, but the MSM acts ignorant.
