Away from it all, taking it nice and easy is just how Terry Green likes to spend his time on his ATV in the deserts west of Tucson.
"We've hardly ever run into anybody else riding quads out here, Green said. "We're not out here turning donuts and whatnot, we're out here kind of sightseeing."
Green has known these deserts for decades, but that doesnt mean hes letting his guard down. He carries both a pistol and a rifle when he rides.
"It's like the Boy Scouts. Be prepared. Usually you have weapons, you don't need them. It's when you don't have weapons you wish you did, Green said.
A few weeks ago, Green wasn't sure whether he would need his guns or not when he met something he had never seen before head on.
"We basically came face to face, they stopped, we stopped, just for a moment I think the driver thought I was Border Patrol and half the people jumped off the truck and headed north, the other half headed south, Green said.
Green estimates there were as many as forty people who gathered back to the truck, and let him take this picture to the left. He believes they were illegal immigrants.
"What else would they be? There weren't 40 of them out there in a pickup truck for a picnic, Green said.
Green's encounter was peaceful, but, it still illustrates his concern about what's going on in the deserts outside of town, and the safety of those who choose to go out there.
"What if these had been drug smugglers? That would have been a whole different scenario, Green said.
With all those possibilities, Green still keeps criss-crossing the deserts west of town, which are lands he claims just as much right to as anyone else.
"I'm not much at running away from a fight. What are you going to do? I'm not going stay home in my backyard, Green said.
Especially when he's just as much at home in a backyard open to everyone.
Green said that he tried to contact authorities after seeing the truckload of people; however, he was out of cell range. The U.S. Border Patrol has a number to call to report illegal immigrant smuggling, at
1-877-USBP-HELP.
He didn't. I'm fairly certain he's French. ;-)
The Mexicans around here all drive "low riders" I guess they think if all of them apear to be overloaded it won't arouse any suspicion.
Can you give me some examples of his immaturity? Also, in which branch of the military did you serve to qualify you to make judgements about military discipline? The Marines?
Thanks, of course, for bumping the thread BTW. It had been a half hour since the last post.
That was me. I get immature on Fridays. Is my emotional maturity not up to par for a member of the Army Intelligence Corps?
That question seems to have scared him off. If he really is a frog, so much the better. The French have been on my $hitlist for all of the reasons you well know. I can't stand them. We have several friends that will no longer vacation in France or buy anything French. We went so far as to even cancel our subscription to Road & Track (a great magazine for car nuts, by the way) because it is owned by a French publisher. From what we have seen, the French are really taking it in their commercial shorts. Loyal Americans justifiably detest them.
CJ is actually very good on pro-life issues. He has smacked down several anti-Terri freeper over the last few weeks, so I do give him credit for that.
Thet're just looking for jobs Americans don't want (/sarcasm)
If you don't want me to address you then kindly stop talking about me behind my back. Thank you.
Hiking along the Santa Cruz near the border - I came across 30+ illegals underneath an overpass - needless to say it was an awkward situation. I left and called the border patrol and they said they couldnt respond. Come to find out that this spot is used all the time to transfer illegals and the border patrol knows about it but does nothing to catch the illegals who hang out there. GW is 100% to blame for all of this - he has the power and the influence to change this but cares more about business then the security and welfare of American citizens.
Sure thing pal. Anything for our least favorite Troll. Thanks for the Bump...
That's why I won't go back to AZ to be a minuteman, They can call the border patrol all day long but will they respond?
However if I find out the Mexican army crossed the border I'm there as fast as it takes to go 1500 mile at 105mph...
A bunch of people aren't happy with that announcement by the Mexican Army..
How can you talk "behind one's back" on an OPEN FORUM anyway?
But hey, thanks for all the bumps on this thread about the invasion of America by criminal aliens.
Don't worry about CJ: as long as he bumps the thread to the top, he's playing his (unwitting) role.
