LEVITTOWN, Pa. (AP) - Terri Schiavo's ashes will be buried in an undisclosed location near Philadelphia so that her immediate family doesn't show up and turn the burial into a media spectacle, a member of the Schiavo family said Thursday.
``If Mike knew they would come in peace, he would have no problem with it,'' Scott Schiavo, Michael Schiavo's brother, said during an interview at his home.
After an autopsy, Michael Schiavo plans to have his wife's body cremated and her ashes brought to Pennsylvania, where she grew up. Scott Schiavo said the ashes would be buried in a plot left by an aunt and uncle, but the family does not plan on providing the specficic location for the burial - underscoring the bitterness of the dispute.
Her parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, had fought for years to prevent her feeding tube from being removed, and they opposed cremation and wanted her buried in Florida.
Neither Terri Schiavo's parents nor her siblings addressed the issue of her burial in their remarks to reporters in Florida on Thursday. A spiritual adviser to her parents, Paul O'Donnell, said they plan to hold a Roman Catholic Mass without her body sometime next week.
Scott Schiavo said he received a stream of calls Thursday from people denouncing him. On his answering machine was a message from a man from Texas who called the Schiavo family murderers.
Police made visits Thursday to both Scott Schiavo's home and the home of his brother, William, in Philadelphia, as a result of threats to the families.
Scott Schiavo expressed relief that his sister-in-law's ordeal was over, and anger at those who have attacked the Schiavo family.
``This isn't over by a long shot, We're going to get our name right,'' he said. ``The world is going to know who Mike was, they're going to know Mike wasn't a beast.''
At Terri Schiavo's alma mater, Archbishop Wood High School in Warminster, workers changed a sign that read ``Terri Schiavo, Class of 1981, We pray that you may live'' to ``We pray that you rest in peace.''

But no mixed feelings on this. To deny the parents access to their daughter's burial is monstrous behavior.
This is the act of a vile man from a vicious family. And you're right. Good luck to them on restoring honor to their family name.
And this surprised you how? The two families have been going after each other for almost 10 years now. There is no love lost between the two families, no compassion for the other side, nobody is going to kiss and make up.

Even moreso as this has been a long-running dispute. It tells me that his real interest was in "getting" her family.
There is a church that accepts these unrepentent murderers?

An entire family of control freaks. Right to the last opportunity.
He must, or at least his family must. Otherwise, why would his brother be so concerned about the Schiavo name and Michael not being remembered as a beast.

Let's look back at this...Michael has been called a 'wife beater', 'murderer' and worse by the Schindlers and their spokesmen (the shrill Randall Terry especially and others) and it has escalated in the final days with all of the media coverage. Can anyone really expect him to forget all of this and make up. I am suprised he even will let them know what region of the country the service will be held.
As I and many others have posted before, there will be and is no good outcome from this whole episode...

Michael is a jerk but that comment is totally irresponsible and degrades FR. I rarely hit the abuse button but I'm hitting it now.

Terri will also be denied the Mass of the Resurrection...another slap at her parents and Catholics.
So they are not done yet? More law suits to follow I guess. They will keep attacking this poor family and whoever sides with them. Guilt drives them.
It is so difficult to not be outraged over this... and it will not end for her family even with this poor woman's untimely death.
A normal human being would bury her quietly in Florida where her entire family resides.
Heard an independent pathologist will not be allowed at the autopsy... only the resident coroner will do the autopsy.
I sure wouldn't want my wife's funeral turned into the media circus that's been outside that hospice.

For reasons unexplained, Terri's mother has not visited her since Easter Sunday.

It was hideous enough that the family was denied the comfort of spending time with Terri in her last moments, this is an utter outrage.
I have seldom seen such callous cruelty displayed on a public stage before.
