Very elementary, Watson.
Question for you (no irrelevant math or chemical equations involved).
Let's assume black holes DO exist.
Do you think there is 'next step' for a black hole? If yes, any theory on what the next step may be? Will it continue to absorb matter for eternity, or will it at some point start releasing matter?
My opinion has always been that a black hole will eventually reach a point when it will no longer maintain it's status as a black hole.
...or is there some truth in the old adage 'once you go black, you never go back'? (sorry, I couldn't resist....but I am curious about your response to the more serious question above).
