'Pirate' On Ballot For Student Body President At N.C. State
WRAL-TV (Raleigh, NC) ^ | March 31, 2005 | Valonda Calloway

One candidate for student body president at North Carolina State University is rocking the boat. A student is on the ballot, not under a real name, but as The Pirate Captain. He even has a platform or "plank." It includes "expanding the bus lines to haul thar peopled cargo to and fro from ACC bouts at the yonder RBC Center." Also, "holding meetin's open to all yae landlubbers."

>snip<

"Voting for someone who wants to rid the campus of scurvy dogs is not really an effective way of having student government," sophomore Christopher Sanchez said. The Pirate Captain was able to get on the ballot because all students need to run for office is a valid student ID number to verify they are in good standing. The Pirate Captain promises to dress more "dapper" if he's elected.

"Voting for someone who wants to rid the campus of scurvy dogs is not really an effective way of having student government," sophomore Christopher Sanchez said.

As opposed to voting for a student government that wants to make every other day "Gay/Lesian/Bisexual/Transgendered Recongition Day" not to mention the multitude of various, sundry left-wing causes that student governments endorse on a regular basis at the expense of manditory student fees.

Hell, I'd cast my vote for pirate-boy before I voted for a "serious" candidate! Hope he wins!

Well one thing it showed is what would have happened had Keith Richard decided to become a pirate instead of a Rolling Stone.

Depp has talked his friend Richard into making a cameo appearance in the sequel playing his father. It will be Richard's first acting role.

Ought to be good for a few laughs!

Arghhhh you're right me pretty. Rum kills off the dreaded scurvy and makes me tool as stiff as the foremast. The rum has run low, a new bunghole needs to be tapped.
